We stayed in the white room at the B&B. The room was small and sparse, but relatively clean and the large windows and curtains made it seem very peaceful and bright. The bed was actually quite comfy and it was the perfect place to crash after a long international flight. There's a small mini fridge in the room that was... More

I love coming here as it is everything I need from a B&B. Great location, clean comfortable bed, tea and coffee making equipment, Fridge, air con and heating, wet room bathroom, Its a real home from home type of house, some reviewers call it basic, well I ask you, what more could you need? The breakfast is a continental breakfast... More

This tiny, two room B&B is a pretty easy walk from the train station and is very excellently located in the Red Light District. We were in the white room, which is more of a dingy off-white really. It had a look of being just slightly worn. The bath room was tiny. As others have noted, the stairs are narrow... More

This is a really lovely little B&B, and very affordable and perfect for couples and young people who want a good, central location. It is bang in the middle of the red light district, with lots of restaurants, bars and coffee shops around you. We had the White Room and were not particularly affected by the noise. The breakfast was... More

A nice intimate little place located just on the edge of the red light district, we really loved it. Our room was decorated really nicely and was immaculately clean. The staff were always really friendly to us and allowed to leave our luggage with them before check in time when we arrived early. Perfect a couple's getaway.

Great location! Very noisy, but if you want to be in the center of red light district this is a beautiful place to stay! The owners are very nice and accommodating. Highly recommended! Private bathroom, awesome shower and super comfortable bed.

Made welcome. Everything we needed in room including a fridge. Let us leave luggage there on last day and made to feel very welcome. Left a breakfast pack of rolls and spreads and coffees and teas. Its basic but all you need. Thanks for a great stay.

We stayed in the white room for 3 nights at the end of October. The stairs really are as awful as other people have said. The room was not clean, it was full of dust. The whole B&B could do with a lick of paint. The breakfast was not appetising and we only ate it one day. The towels were... More

This place is very close to the train station, and right on the edge of the red light district. We stayed in the black and white room, which is on the back of the building. We were actually surprised by how quiet it was, especially considering our location. The room was large and airy, with big windows and neat old... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
