This is the place to stay if you are on a budget in Amsterdam, we loved it! It is so close to the train station and maximum 20 minutes walk to the city centre. The atmosphere on the boat is great and the owners are lovely and always keen to help and have a chat. Everything was clean and overall... More

The hotel is located in front of Renzo Piano's building. Very cheap with great breakfast! I reccomend renting a bike to move in the city! If you go as a couple I reccomend you ask a suite with bathroom inside.

I had a great time staying there. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. There was a wide selection for breakfast from cereals to meats and cheeses with some stuff for the veggie as well. The room was fit for purpose, basically a place to recharge for a few hours, change and then go back on the town. It is... More

Staff was not very welcoming. Room was very small and a little bit smelly. Toilet/shower was not hygienic (mould on shower curtain). Floor was cold and moist. Every piece of textile exposed in this room went damp and it was impossible to dry towels and such. Breakfast was ok, but the bread was boring and dry. The only real plus... More

It is charming and an adventure, no question. Also it is very clean and the owners are friendly and helpful. The rooms are tiny, but with own shower and toilet. But the walls are very thin and you can hear EVERYTHING in- and outside. Still it can be quiet at night. And you should have extra blankets winter - it... More

My sister and I found Botel Zebra when all of the hostels shaped up to be expensive and gross. We were amazed at how lovely Botel Zebra was. It took 10 minutes to walk to Botel Zebra from Amsterdam Centraal-you literally walk out of the railway station and to the left for those 10 minutes and over a little bridge... More

There are big advantages: location - close to the central train station and city centre, and reasonable prices. You have to remember that it is a boat, so rooms are really tiny. Room at Zebra is only a place for sleep, you will not spend there romantic evening with candles. I was a little afraid about cleanliness and moisture after... More

Botel Zebra has the advantage of being pretty close to the Amsterdam's city centre and the Central Train Station (with a great tourist information centre across the street). We did not make much use of the breakfast, as it is only served after 9:00 am, which was an inconvenience seeing as we wanted to make an early start on most... More

Botel Zebra is located in the harbour area not far away from the city centre (10min walk?). it is - beeing a boat - pretty tiny and so the beds and baths aren't that big, too. The staff doesn't speak much english, but is friendly and helpful with information about amsterdam (food, parking etc.). the boat is clean and the... More
