This place is super well located. The neighborhood has many fun eating establishments. Anne Frank's House is closeby. We rented bikes for our whole stay and that made all the fun attractions close to home. Vera was an amazing host. When we showed up, she was waiting for us. Since the room wasn't ready she kept our luggage in her... More

I stayed on a solo trip and couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodations. The owners of this B&B went out of their way to make my stay very enjoyable. I stayed in the attic room which had amazing views of the city. The Jordaan neighborhood was walking distance to all the sights and is really a vibrant place... More

Stayed here two nights as a "layover" between business trips in Poland and the US. Vera is the perfect host who carried my very heavy luggage up to the 3rd floor, delivered a wonderful breakfast at my convenience both mornings, and arranged a taxi back to the airport (which cost $42 euro). Only drawbacks: It's quite a walk from the... More

Me and my mother stayed at Eelhouse the other night for two nights and it was so nice! The location is the perfect walking distance to all types of foods and shops. Vera, Jasper and Claus were the nicest and most accommodating hosts. Vera brought our breakfast up to our top of the building attic bedroom in the morning at... More

Great location for exploring the area, and out of the fray. Breakfast and stocked fridge were great touches. The only problem was going up the very narrow and windy stairs to several floor for our room. Our hostess was very accommodating and helped with the baggage. Thought it was a bit pricey for the time of year as well

Vera and Jasper are amazing hosts that personalized our visit. 5 minute walk to Anne Frank House and numerous sites but we are tucked into a lovely neighborhood. Vera delivers a delicious breakfast tray at a time of our choosing. We loved our tiny 4th floor room with a view...yes, tiny stairs to climb but our host did the baggage.... More

Cozy B&B at a great location in Amsterdam. Surpringly short distances to practically everywhere in the city. Wonderful hostess, who brings the breakfast to your own room! Awesome restaurants and cafés nearby. Highly recommended!

The Eelhouse is a such a great find in Amsterdam! Located in the Jordaan, it is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle and close enough to all of the major attractions to make you feel like you are not missing out on anything. We walked everywhere from the B&B and felt as it nothing was too far... More

We spent one week at Eelhouse B & B in February. We really enjoyed the location on a quiet street in Jordaan, yet were close to restaurants, shops, bars and many different weekly markets. I especially enjoyed the view from our room in the morning, surrounded by gorgeous houses and watching the locals bike around the neighbourhood. Vera was wonderful,... More

Stayed at the Eelhouse in last November, together with my girlfriend. It was a great experience, the B&B is located in 'de Jordaan' a nice neighberhood close to central station and all the touristic things of Amsterdam, but it has the vibe of real Amsterdam. Great restaurants and bars closeby and the owners can give you great recommendations. we stayed... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
