We stayed four nights earlier this week and loved it. The owners are great and exceptionally friendly. There's tons of nice bars and cafes around to enjoy. The room has great windows which makes the room lovely and airy and the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring. One thing we won't forget is the bed - super... More

Lovely, spacious room in a gorgeous, quiet area full of bars, restaurants and cafes and only a short 15 minute walk to the city centre. Breakfast hamper was brought to our room by the very friendly owners every morning, the fridge was stocked with water , juice, beer and wine (complimentary) and refilled on request (nice touch). B&B had more... More

I stayed 5 nights and liked everything here: the location, the walks to and from the place, the bed, the breakfast and the host. Every evening when i came 'home' tired, i had a little burst of joy when i entered my room. I knew i a was going to be happy for the next 8 hours spend in here.... More

A great little B & B in the Jordaan area of Amsterdam. The owners were a friendly young couple, who made one feel quite at home. Nothing was too much trouble. The steps up to the guest rooms original and windy, but but Vera and Jasper helped to carry the luggage so it was easy for us. Very central to... More

My wife and I stayed at the Eelhouse for three nights in early October 2015. Great location in the Jordaan section of Amsterdam. Lovely room on the top floor with beautiful rooftop views. (Probably not a good idea for people with disabilities with the traditional Dutch narrow staircase) Vera met us at 9 am on a Sunday and Jasper helped... More

The Eelhouse is one of the best B & B's we've ever stayed at. Vera & Jasper were the perfect hosts and couldn't do enough for us. The location is central and very quiet. The rooms are extremely light and airy and very well equipped; clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were terrific with lots of choice and very delicious. We... More

Our stay at Eelhouse was perfect- the Jordaan area is close to everything but quiet and private for a rest after sightseeing. The stairs could be a challenge for individuals with balance or pain concerns and the bed was on the floor but it was perfect for us! The sunrises and sunsets were worth the extra stairs and our attic... More

We spent 2 nights there and really enjoyed it. Check-in and check out was painless. We were on the 4th floor and Jasper helped us with our bags up to the room. It looked like the bathroom was just redone. Very nice. Fridge was stocked with 2 beer 2 water 2 orange juice and a bottle of wine. Restocked each... More

This place is super well located. The neighborhood has many fun eating establishments. Anne Frank's House is closeby. We rented bikes for our whole stay and that made all the fun attractions close to home. Vera was an amazing host. When we showed up, she was waiting for us. Since the room wasn't ready she kept our luggage in her... More

I stayed on a solo trip and couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodations. The owners of this B&B went out of their way to make my stay very enjoyable. I stayed in the attic room which had amazing views of the city. The Jordaan neighborhood was walking distance to all the sights and is really a vibrant place... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
