A delightful Hotel ... an easy 10 minute walk from the main Bus station we had stopped to take a photograph of a gorgeous building along the way unaware that it was indeed this Hotel. We missed the sign. It has no particular foyer or check in area so it's a little confusing to know where to go. But once... More

Pakhuys hotel is a cosy little hotel in the city center of Alkmaar, 150 yds from the famous cheese market and Waag building / museum. Rooms next to a small canal (ask for a de luxe room). Spacious but simple rooms. No luxury but all you need. Small breakfast resto. Parking 'Karperton' is next door (navigate to: Dijk, Alkmaar). Reception... More

Breakfast was very good. The local church chimes ran all night but ear plugs solved that. The steps to the rooms are steep... More

We had to book alternative accommodation at the last minute, for a family of five. We ended up booking 2 rooms on separate floors, 1 for the kids and 1 for the parents. The hotel is very well situated (this did mean some street noise at night), and the rooms/suites have loads of space with quirky decor, kitchen facilities and... More
