Really nice building interior, staff and bar/dining area. Good location. Good value breakfast for 3.50 euros. Wifi was a bit off and on and could not be accessed inside the dorm. Windowless dorms. A bit claustrophobic but nice nonetheless. A big planning error - putting the toilet in with the shower inside the dorm. If one person is using the... More

Perfect location (in the centre, close to a parking garage). Nice common area in the hotel; good and cheap breakfast. But there were two very unpleasant things: 1) Our room has no window (I guess the most rooms are without windows) and no air conditioning. 2) Not to disturb guests and to reduce the noise after 10 pm, people can... We came to Alkmaar for an Erasmus friends reunion. Ten years ago we got to live in Heerhuhgowaard (near Alkmaar) and study at InHolland university in Alkmaar where we had the time of our life! Let me tell you! :-) Time has flied and we all got older and wiser (some...) ;-) Two of us came with their kid and... More

Great hostel in a very great location. Would recommend it to anyone. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough to please our large group. The food was fabulous too. Despite my group being a little noisy, the locals seemed pleased that we were visiting and many came and chatted with us.

Our rugby team visited Alkmaar on tour and stayed at the King's Inn 2 weekends ago. The location, accomodation and staff were absolutely fantastic. Friendly, welcoming and helped us all have a great time. The location of the hostel is perfect, 10 minutes walk from the train station and a minutes walk from the gorgeous town square. The rooms were... More

We (4 friends) arrived by bike at Alkmaar without booked accommodation on what we found out to be one of the busiest weekends of the year. We thought that we were going to have great difficulty finding accommodation but the King's Hostel went to great trouble to squeeze us in. The staff were efficient and welcoming and the rooms clean... More

This hostel is well located in the centre of Alkmaar. The staff is extremely friendly, you really get the feeling, that they care about you. The rooms are clean. Only negative point: when I came back to my room the last night, all the beds were already occupied, and I had to move to another room...

I was looking for a place to have coffee while waiting for the cheese market festivities to start and stumbled upon this 5 month old hostel with friendly staff and excellent coffee. The location is perfect to explore this quaint little town especially if you are planning to visit the cheese market. The spanking new and clean dormitories all have... More
