We stayed here for a weekend to explore the city which was easy as the hotel is quite central. The building is nicely decorated and the spacious room was classically furnished, quite nice. We received a complementary bottle of red wine too. The double bed was composed of two single mattresses which can be quite uncomfortable regardless of the mattress... More

It is a charming place for those trying to escape the standardized "sterile" hotel looks. Staying in a historical building has a price though - steep stairs, no lift, light sewege smell in the corridor (nothing in the room though), pretty poor sound isolation from the corridor (I have heard nothing from the neighboring rooms though). Personally I also found... More

Charming hotel in adjacent houses. A sincere friendly welcome by the staff. Spacious convenient room with traditional elements. To start the day a mouthwatering breakfast with fresh fruit and a choice of eggs is served. Within walking distance of the historical centre of beautiful Maastricht with its monuments, terraces and restaurants.

We were in Maastricht for the TEFAF, one of the world's foremost art & antiques fairs, where quality means everything. This appeared to be in stark contrast to this hotel, where the best thing offered seemed to be only the excellent beds. Whilst the reception staff was mostly friendly and to a degree helpful, they clearly lacked any professional training... More

I booked this hotel last minute through a local Groupon deal for a weekend trip to Maastricht. It had a great location, on several bus routes from Centraal Station and a short five minutes walk to the main square in Maastricht. I would say an ideal location to explore Maastricht by foot. I stayed in room 731...no real windows but... More

Bigarre is a small old historical building direct in the city centre. We stayed in a spacious room at the back of the hotel with traditional elements, really charming. What I liked the most in this hotel was the relaxed informal atmosphere of the staff, the private parking at the back of the hotel and the original bourgondian breakfast. It... More

Our two beamed rooms were comfortable with plenty of seating, a warm bed (on a chilly night), clean bathroom with a good shower and bath and a view of the River Maas. The big surprise was breakfast with a cooked choice, and platefuls of meats, fish and cheeses with a variety of breads. Champagne was included! My only quibble was... More

The first day of my stay was acceptable although not perfect. The room was clean and decorated quite well although the cupboard did not have the handle on the side you have to open to hang up your coat and clothings and the chair was quite uncomfortable to sit. Next morning at the breakfast, there was no buffet and the... More

It is difficult to know where to start when reviewing this hotel as so much of the experience was not good that I am not quite sure where to begin. It started with our arrival. When checking in the “you haven’t paid for breakfast” line came up. Now I am aware that this is not the first time this has... More

Historic home, beautifully renovated with the perfect combination of modern and historic touches, comfortable beds, quiet/good location just off busy areas....could not have been a better three-night stay. I love that the previous owner of the house is honored in framed photos and text -- the artist Paul Daenen. As if that weren't enough, you are in one of the... More
