Stayed here for one night. The staff are friendly and the bar area is nice enough, for a boat. But because it's a boat the rooms are quite cramped, dated and noisy and the bathroom is even smaller still. The steps leading from the reception area to the rooms are also very steep, not really sure how I managed them... More

I was not prepared for the rusting outside deck, gritty linoleum bedroom floor, and general inconvenience. The shower didn't work. I had to ask for a blow dryer. You can only drink what they serve in the main cabin so my water bottle was not allowed. Internet is only available in the main cabin. There is a shelf placed above... More

First of all, this place is an extremely convenient location to see old Maastricht. Plus the value is outstanding. Most places in the city center are very expensive and that limits what else you can do on your trip. Consider this more of a no-frills alternative slightly above a good hostel. I ranked it a 5 because it is a... More

I enjoyed my stay at the botel in Maastricht. Location and prizes were really good. Staff were very nice and social and it was no problem to them that I wanted to have breakfast a little bit earlier than they normally serve. Despite those things there were a few things that I didn't enjoy as much. The foremost thing was... More

I really enjoyed my stay at Botel Maastricht, even though there were some features I wouldn't have accepted when staying at a usual hotel. But this is a houseboat, and so it's a bit different! Staff were utterly friendly and nice, and my room was small, but ok for one person. Although everything was quite old and run down, it... More

Great experience if you like old boats. Of course the rooms are tiny but it´s a boat not a palace ! Breakfast is correct and it´s really fun to eat on a boat. Some rooms have private bathroom really tiny but fonctional. The room we took was clean. It´s true that it smells musty. The advantage is the price :... More

So you are looking for a not-too-expensive hotel within walking distance of the Vrijthoff. you come across this, a boat converted into a hotel, right on the beautiful Maas river, and the prices are well below what you'd normally pay at this time of the year (the Andre Rieu annual concert in his home town, which attracts thousands and thousands... What a perfect spot for a short stay, on the river situated midway from Old and New Maastricht. Bedroom was small with two very comfortable beds and a stool.shower and toilet shared a small cubicle, water was hot and towels fine. Downstairs with no view but small price to pay for such a good spot, only 10mins from the main... More

I was in doubt until the moment I submitted the review if I would give 2 or 3 stars to Botel, because despite being a bad experience it was cheap (37 euros) compared with a real Hotel. Starting by the beginning, I stood there just for one night in a double room without bathroom. With the staff everything went good,... More

We arrived late in Maastricht and missed the VVV. We wandered a bit and were told to ask if the Botel had a cabin available. Afraid it would be expensive, we walked to The Maas and inquired at The Botel. My husband asked for a cabin on the water side of the craft and we had a small but comfortable... More
