I would like to preface this review by saying that my sister and mother, with whom I was travelling had stayed in one of the suites in this hotel last year and given the hotel an excellent recommendation and that along with the location convinced us to pay the inflated Andre Rieu's in town prices, to book two rooms to... The location is really central. Hotel interior is cozy. Evening staff was welcoming and friendly. So why only two stars? Because most of the hotel smelled like s***t! In every room they placed scents to mask the smell but didn't help. That is one thing, second is that the manager acted like i was telling him something totally new, he... More

Lovely facilities in chic part of Maastricht. The room was lovely and well heated for a February stay. Breakfast was good and I loved the victorian style decor. I guess the rooms would benefit from air conditioning as I have stayed in 1 star rooms and had air-conditioning. Looking at other reviews it appears to be a theme. However my... More

The hotel is extremely well located for easy access to both sides of the Maas and their diverse shops and restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is secured parking which is always useful in a city as old as Maastricht. I go every year for the TEFAF and book my room as I leave for the following... More

Don't stay here!!! Three reasons why; 1. The smell. As soon as we were let into our room there was a stench like this place had not been aired out in years. I'm not sure if the smell went away when the windows were open, or if my nostrils just got used to the smell. 2. The spiders. Right when... More

We arrived on a hot summer day in July and were shown to a top floor room which was extremely hot. The gentleman switched the fan on and advised us to keep the curtains shut to keep the room cool, and implied the windows didn't open. We then found the safe was faulty and reported it. Someone tried to fix... More

We paid for a Superior Double room and were given a very small, hot room on the 3rd floor. There was no air con and no lift. The fan in the room that was on constantly for our two day stay just about made the heat tolerable. We were given a friendly welcome and there was secure parking (very tight... More

Before I get started into the review proper please have a look at some of my other reviews so that you can see that I normally try to be fair about the places I stay. I stay on business in hotels for 80 to 90 nights a year so I'd like to think I have a reasonable background and know... More

Extra charges exceeded 15% of the room price that I paid through hotels.com. I was charged additionally for breakfast (after being reassured by a staff member that it is included in the price), drinking water that was standing on the table and not in the mini bar. Be prepared also to pay additional service charge that is mentioned only in... More

We liked this hotel on our two night stay in April. The quirky decor is charming and the location is good. I thought breakfast was ok, not great as everything seemed in minature. Side plates to eat cooked breakfast from. I loved the crockery, the bed linen and furnishings. The mixture of antiques and modern art make the hotel different... More
