The Asgard Hotel is very good located, in walking distance of Groningens highlights. The room is very clean, we stayed in the Penthouse with a nice view over the rooftops of the neighborhood. Frontdesk is very friendly and helpful, but serves Bar as well, which is difficult when the Hotel is full, expect waiting times. Breakfast is good, nothing fancy... More

This is a modern, minimalist style hotel in a central location. It was only five minutes walk from Groningen's central train station and the Groninger Museum and ten minutes walk to the city centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was large with desk, seating area and tea/coffee making facilities. Well appointed shower room with Rituals toiletries. The breakfast... More

Great service, friendly staff, clean rooms. The hotel's location is located in the inner ring of the city and pretty much everything interesting was walking distance. The hotel's interior is modern / minimalistic and perfectly reasonable for the room prices.

I would be hesitating between three and four points for this hotel. I'll give it 4 because the potential problems didn't concern me so much. The location is really good, very central and inside the "inner ring" made up by canals. Right next to University. Do any people over 25 live in Groningen? However (potential problem 1) if you travel... More

My first visit to Groningen, so using TA I opted for the Asgard, mainly because of it's close proximity to the station. I'm afraid though I am not as enthusiastic about the hotel as other reviewers. The hotel was perfectly clean and well presented and the staff I met were very friendly and helpful on check- in. However, the room... More

I really enjoyed my stay at the Asgard. I love the look and feel of the hotel, simple but doesn't feel cheap. Rooms are a generous size with nice high ceilings. Free WiFi is ok and trouble free. Breakfast is good quality food and decent coffee but gets a bit repetitive after a few days.

5 stars, of course. Very nice place in a very nice city. The city is also different from other Dutch places (in the good sense). The hotel is wonderful: location, spotlessly clean, cool, modern, eco friendly, nice people. We had the suite on the to: it was wonderful now (view, very big,...), and should still be better in summer/spring, when... More

Relaxed short stay, able to unwind after moving our university student in the city. The cold and stormy night was not noticible from the comfort of our room. No nonsense room of natural tones, basic materials used in unexpected architectural ways. Comfy beds with memory foam mattresses and soft quality linnens. Organic breakfast was simple, high quality, perfect.

Stayed here for one night. Room 0, ground floor, single bed, shower. Very friendly welcome. Decent price. Comfortable room. Center of town. Good breakfast. Free WiFi. Even a free hotel laptop according to the hotel directory. Had a great dinner at restaurant "Houdt van Eten" which is in 5 minute walking distance (see my review and their website). Cinema's in... Wrote a review about two years ago and I should update now, since the hotel added an extra floor with bigger and more comfortable rooms. All my old comments still apply to floors 1 and 2, but the floor 3 rooms stand out. They are slightly more expensive but give the price level of a city like Groningen, it's a... More
