Cozy hotel, nice design, beautiful bar cum lobby and breakfast room. People are very friendly and hospitable. Great cappuccino! Some minuses: the desk in my room was beautiful, but not good to sit at (but the space in the lobby can be a great place to work); the rooms to the street (Oude Boteringestraat) can be noisy, so try get... We stayed here for one night and were given an attic room. Bathroom was in need of some serious renovation. Room itself was ok but a bit claustrophobic with limited windows. I would not recommend staying here in summer as the airco unit was right next to the room. The fact that earplugs wee provided says it all. Reception of... More

When we visited Groningen, we were looking for a hotel, and as usual, we used Trip Advisor as our guidance. Strangely enough, this hotel did not pop up. After searching the usual booking sides, we did come across this hotel, and it looked perfect. We only could book it for one night, but it was an I stand hit. Located... More

This hotel is within the inner canal system and is a short walk to the centre. It's an old, quaint building with lots of atmosphere. No two rooms are the same. Very friendly staff who are keen to assist. Very pleasant lounge bar with piano, record player, books, newspapers etc. My bedroom was quite spacious and was quite well equipped.... More

When you first see the Corps de Garde hotel, you think "How exciting that I am going to stay in this place." It is likely two hundred or more years old. Brick and stone, big windows and so well located on a corner right across from the canal. It is less than a ten minute walk to downtown Groningen. Inside,... More

Staff The hotel staff staff were incredibly welcoming and its a nice touch to be offered a free drink on arrival. They offered tips what to do and where to eat Location The location couldn't be much better, 15 minutes walk from the central train station and 2 minutes walk from the central squares Rooms The rooms were large and... Stayed here for the weekend with my elderly parents whilst visiting my son who is at the university. The hotel were extremely welcoming and helpful with suitable accommodation (e.g. Wet room) for my parents before and during our stay. Clean and a good standard hotel that was very central and we could amble around the quirky shops and had a... More

This hotel is located in central area and has high ratings, which from my opinion are not adequate. Hotel wants to be cosy and guests oriented. This is well supported by the stuff, but facilities are outdated. Different rooms are available in the hotel depending on the price. Some even has bath and fireplace (which didn't work). Generally size is... More

This hotel is very nice and has a really cool history. It is very affordable with large rooms and bathrooms. Groningen is such a cool town, a small college town that was smaller and more quaint than Amsterdam but still plenty to do. The staff was awesome, Barts (sp?) is such a nice guy and truly makes the hotel a... More

This small hotel is made from a old building of the army (most probably french). The downstairs room, the main room was probably the kind of soldiers headquarter, very nice room, great staff, close to the center in front of the river. Price is great too (95 euros/1 pers). Highly recommended if you want to visit University city of Groningen... More
