Good location if you want to visit RUG and martini tower. Pretty far from train station, but there is a bus stop in front of the hotel. Overall the hotel itself (facilities, amenities, breakfast) is average.

I usually like NH hotels, but not this one. I did not know there were two NH hotels in Groningen, for such a small city (around 200,000 people), that seems a lot. The other NH hotel (called De ville) was great and I loved it. Hence the mistake when I asked for the NH hotel again.
So don't mix them...

Good room, standard fare at this level. No fridge or mini-bar, which was a minor nuisance. However the proximity to the town square and great restaurants and cafes makes it pretty redundant anyway, and there is a supermarket in the ground floor of the medical centre opposite.
As others no doubt say, the hospital brings with it the occassional helicopter...

the hotel is situated oposite the main entrance to the academic hospital, which gives some extra noise levels as the ambulances and or helicopters come and go. though this might seem a put off, the advatages - goodparking facility and some late shopping faciclities more than outweight this. the hotel has two type of rooms. the standard rooms are more...

The location of this hotel is great; only a few minutes walk from the city center; about 20 minutes walk from the central station, and next to the academic hospital. Our standard room was a bit small (adjacent to the elevator shaft), and very basic. Not quite 4 star, I would say. It seems there are also renovated and bigger...

I stayed here in January 2011. The hotel is located in front of the University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG), 5 minutes walk from the city centre, and about a 15 minute walk from the railway station.
Check-in and check-out was efficient. The hotel reception area is somewhat impersonal, the bar was closed (too) early. My room was a large corner...

The NH Hotel is opposite the medical centre, where you can park your car in the garage.
Staff is okay, a bit reserved, nice rooms with shower. The breakfast is really good. In 5 minutes you walk to the city center.
Ask for a room on the city-side; the other side can be noisy because of the ambulances.
A pity...

A business Hotel with a nice, Dutch Breakfast, friendly service and appropriate rooms. Located Vis-à-Vis the University Medical Centre Groningen, the city of Groningen is reachable in a 3-5 minutes walk. To visit the city is really recommended. There are some very cosy restaurants directly at the town canal. The price –performance ration of the Hotel is fine.

I stayed at this hotel in the last week of March. Room was clean and big. Breakfast good. Staff helpful and friendly. Overall value for money. Only drawback was that the safe in my room got out of order - the staff could not get it repaired till the time I left which included one complete working day

I've been staying at this hotel about twice a year over the last years and although it's not a luxury hotel it was comfortable and not too far from the center. Also the price was o.k. at €85,-. But I stayed here for the last time. Here's why:
- the price went up to €112,- (€125,- for the renovated 'luxury'...
