The main attraction for most (non-Dutch) people will be the idea of sleeping on a houseboat. In fact it's not all that dramatic. You hardly feel any movement. Still, you are floating on the Rhine, and you get a wonderful view of passing barges, etc, both from your bedroom window and from the balcony thing. There's a friendly, helpful, laid-back... More

I booked in last night. Was welcomed at the door by Ruud the owner. Very nice guy and very helpful. The rooms are uniquely decorated and all facillities are perfect. The breakfast was healthy with lots of fruit, tea, juice, cheese and probably the best breakfast I have had for many years! The price was super. I will definately be... More

We thought it would be fun to stay on a house boat on the Rhine while in Arnhem and it certainly was! Ruud was very friendly and helpful and the place is clean and pleasant. As others have said, it is very colourful and very "hippy-like". The stairs to the second level are essentially vertical and there is a nice... More

we stayed 2 nights on this houseboat which sits on the rhine - we had the room downstairs which meant we could lay on the bed and watch the boats on the river - so very relaxing. We had a small terrace outside our room and use of the roof terrace. The decor is so quirky and as well as good... More

This is something special and I cannot wait to go and stay again. We had the Venetion room, though we are both 70 years old we loved sleeping in the bed suspended from the ceiling!! Ruudi was very friendly and so was his cat who came and visitied us a number of times. Within walking distance of the town and... More

You've never seen anything like it, I guarantee it! Very nice. Though my wife and I are in our 60's, we were able to climb the ladder with minimum of difficulty. Room large and, well, like I said you've never seen anything like this. Even though the ceiling peaks in the middle at maybe 10 or 11 feet and down... More

The Drijfpaleis is hard to find by car with an ancient TomTom, but once you get to the free parking area on the Boterdijk, you're basically there. Perfect. We were warmly welcomed to the floating, Gaudi-esque villa by the wild-haired Ruud who showed us to room 2 upstairs. A very spacious room with a nice view over the Rijn river... More

First you arrive in a Gaudi garden. The house is on the Rhin and it is unique. We had the Venecia room, on the first floor. Everything is well decorated and very special. Ruud is a good host. We appreciate the book with the info on the restaurants neer by.

A great place to stay - friendly, comfortable - and the best breakfast I've ever had in the Netherlands! We used it to as a base to explore the area on bike and can thoroughly recommend. A particualr highlight was the Kroller-Muller museum.

An amazing B&B with massive rooms, unique decor and a very friendly welcome. Really feels like another world. I stayed one night but would happily go back and spend a few days just relaxing. A wonderful place to sit and watch the world go by on the river.
