Place is located 15 minutes far from the city center but is easily reachable from the main train station. Thanks to the remarkable Swiss transport system. Staff at the hostel is very friendly specially at the bar counter. The seating area is an amazing place to make new friends and discuss about city exploring. Wifi is only available at the... More

Youth Hostel / Jugendherberge Zurich was the highlight of our stay in Europe. The staff are incredibly friendly and they go out of their way to help you at all times. They serve you with a smile and make you feel welcome; it feels real and not just for money. We met the best service staff ever and I can't... More

This youth hostel is quite expensive compared to other youth hostels in Europe, but this is more a reflection on the city of Zurich, rather than the hostel. When you compare it to other alternatives in Zurich, this hostel is pretty good. It was clean and had a nice large area downstairs for eating, hanging out and connecting to the... More

the location of the hostel was outside the town and the place was very very costly. the breakfast was very poor specially if you dont eat pork and beef. they only serve non veg and for vegetarians, there is only cheese bread and jam. the rooms are clean and lockers are big enough. the place is very cold so carry... A bit expensive than hostels in other cities, but given t is in Switzerland, probably the most expensive country in the world, the quality and service is definitely worth the price. One thing that bothered me is that in some rooms, you can not get wifi signal.

I stayed again at the Jugendherberge in Sept 2013. Super affordable, very clean, quiet surroundings. Three really simple rules, 1. bring your sheets down in the morning (way better than paying for sheets daily) 2. move your dirty dishes to clean up racks (not bad for a free breakfast!) and 3. Smoke only in the court yard (no different than... More

Stayed there in July. This is cheap for Zurich, even if it seems expensive compared with anywhere else. The location is reasonably central. The building looks new and well maintained. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean throughout. They have luggage lockers near the reception, but they have to be emptied once a day (can't remember at what time). Once... More

South of the city of Zurich, loads of roads run parallel close to the lake. But these are mostly very narrow one-way streets. It's a bit hit and miss because the hostel is not on the road going south but is actually on the road that goes back into the city, hence idea for anyone approaching from the south. Having... More

For a hostel, it is an ideal place to stay: clean, with plain, modern furnishings and within easy access of public transport (trams and buses). Communal ablutions are well kept. Breakfasts are satisfactory and after 10am free coffees stop and you have to start paying. You get issued with clean laundered bedding to makeup your own bed on arrival. There... More

Jugendherberge Zurich is so far the best hostel I've stayed in. The building is not very appealing from the outside, but it's quite modern and clean on the inside. The rooms are also in great conditions, they are small, but well, its a hostel! Breakfast was very good actually, it had a wide variety of things and it all looked... More
