I stayed in Zurich with my 11 year old daughter for a weekend and we were very pleased with the youth hostel. The hostel is in a quiet neighbourhood, the building seems to be newly renovated and the rooms are small but very clean. We had a four-bed room just for us two. Not having stayed at a Youth Hostel for about 10 years, I wasn't sure what to expect. It turned out to be better than many hotels I've stayed in. OK - the rooms are basic - but why go to a beautiful city and spend all your time in the bedroom ? Impressive facilities with good food and helpful staff.... more

For a youth hostel I usually set my expectations fairly low, but this one exceeded my expectations (hence the above average rating). Certainly not as nice as a hotel, but it was clean, comfortable and cheaper than a Zurich hotel. I stayed in a four bunk room for one night and didn't have any problems. more
