This hostel was a close walk from train station in the great location of the old city (a skip away from the river!) It has quite a few stairs to reach reception so be prepared. Reception is friendly and helpful but closed from 12-3 which seems a bit too much. Wifi is only in lobby so prepared for that to... More

Very handy location close to everything. Basic facilities, great staff, secure and clean, always busy book in advance. I guess the only place in Zurich like this. Minuses: no lifts so you have to walk yourself and your luggage up to 3rd or higher floor for reception and rooms. Free wifi works only in the common room close to reception... More

There are restaurants and bars all around as this is a very central location so i needed my plugs to sleep each night. OK but... Expensive place but not the worse (i paid 43 CHF in Basel...). 4-5 floors to climb each day. Good and not too busy kitchen with good fridge & everything to cook (very useful). Im happy... More

Of course anywhere in Switzerland is expensive, but this isn't exactly what you pay for. Rooms are quite small and bathrooms were alright. From my experience, it was not a very social hostel either for a weekend. When walking around, there were lots of hostels with people socializing, but this was a quiet hostel. Since I was alone, I definitely... More

City Backpacker/Biber hostel in Zurich is a centrally located budget hostel nearer to main Rail station,-walk 10 mins-and is right in the heart of city, being by the side of many bars, pubs and restaurants.Except 2 dis advantages-one is no elevator & U have to climb 3 floors-another is very restricted reception hours(08 to 12 and 1500 to 2200hrs) ,the hostel is... Hostels in Zurich are expensive, that is a given, but you don't really get what you pay for here! I stayed in a 6 bed dorm that was tiny! The lockers are not big enough to get luggage in, which makes the room even more cramped! There are only 2 showers and toilets (that aren't always clean!) per floor of... More

I'd been prepped for a painfully expensive conference trip to Zurich, but luckily I found this place which was cheap, super convenient for both the train station and the University (which was where I had to be). Not the quietest spot, but from a social/evening funtimes perspective that was a plus as much as it was a minus (There are... More

Not so good, small and expensive hostel, there are in Europe many hostels with better services... slow WiFi and sometimes it didn't work. Two very small kitchens and shared bathroom with only two showers. Anyway it's in centre, beautiful location and everybody knows that Zurich is expensive, so three stars.

This was my first time ever staying at a hostel, so all I had to go on was my imagination and stories I had heard from others -- a picture of relatively cramped rooms with somewhat uncomfortable beds, mediocre hygiene and maintenance, and little opportunity and/or appliances to prepare decent meals. In the end, what I got there far exceeded... More

OK, so the price is a complete rip-off for Europe - but hey, this is Zurich, and prices are very expensive, generally, even for a bed in a shared room. The hostel is located in a nice part of Zurich, tucked away in a side alley. There are MANY flights of stairs to climb in order to reach reception (and... More
