Good: personal was quite friendly, good breakfast, good location (close to the train station, bus stops, close to ETH research institutions I was interested in), restaurant, bowling, parking are nice for hotel to have, free fruits at the entrance. Bad: the pictures on the site are far away from reality! smells horrible in corridors and rooms (like old carpets cleaned... More

Stayed over for one night. There is limited parking available outside. Arrived quite late there was a nice lady on the reception. There is a noisy pub/bar downstairs. The rooms are a bit dated with a small tv with no real English channels. There is free wifi which would be good if it worked. The beds are of a pull... More

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Kronenhof last weekend for one night. The pros: the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, parking was only 10 franks, the room price was cheaper than most other hotels in Zurich, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The cons: the room was very very hot. There was no a/c... More

Negative aspects: It's past the time to do something about room maintenance. Mould between the bathroom tiles, paint missing in various places (bathroom shelf, door frame, furniture, chair), an old miniature CRT TV. The doors are not soundproof: one can hear everything from the hallway. Positive aspects: Housekeeping is good, staff at the reception desk is friendly, there is a... More

This hotel is supposed to be a 3 *, only I would have preferred to go to the Ibis which was cheaper. I was basically disappointed by the old furniture, stained, very small tv, and coffee facilities that we actually have to pay for. But the bed was confortable, the shower was large and the staff very welcoming. It's a... More

This hotel is pretty basic by European hotel standards, but is much cheaper than many hotels in and around Zurich. Plus points are that the staff were very friendly, the room was clean, but the hotel looked tired, with fold down beds, no free tea or coffee, and adjoined a busy intersection. Not sue if the heating was broken, or... More

If you are looking for 4-5 Star hotel in the city, this isn’t it. If you want a reasonably priced room in a hotel outside of Zurich, you can’t go wrong. Especially if you want to experience something beyond the typical, generic city hotel you find everywhere. While a previous reviewer took exception with the continental breakfast, we experienced the... More

There are three aspects to Hotel Kronenhof that I would warn about to potential guests. FIrst and foremost, although advertised as a non-smoking hotel, the heavy smoke from the pub wafts into every room and is extremely irritable. I had to keep the window open at night (in the winter) and still was miserable. Second, the hotel is irritating as... More

Stayed in rooms 32/33. Rooms were clean/ simple. Large by European standards. There was a tv, free in room safe , mini bar, phone ,and fairly big shower. No trace of cigarette smoke. No air conditioning. We stayed during record heat wave, they gave us fans and we opened windows. It has a very fast elevator. Hotel is in a quiet... More
