It's not for all. You must like the understatement that is pure luxury. If so, as you step into this tiny property, you will immediately sense it. It's not the five-star palace. Gladly. The first welcome and the following greetings are always warm. The small library, the intimate restaurant and the essential rooms, all speak for themselves. The rooms: a... More

The Hotel is both close to the lake and the main shopping areas but is in a quiet location. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. It is a shame the restaurant was not more busy but the food was very good. We were given a lovely room which was a bit dark because of it's position... More

I have stayed at the Alden several times over the past 20 months following a business associate's referral. Walking distance to shopping and See, close to trains and trams. where needed a quick taxi ride to top restaurants if you need a change from the excellent food at the Alden. Not the cheapest hotel offering but the Best. Staff and... More

The Alden is well located, the rooms are very large (especially the suites) and there are quite a few special touches (fruit platter, water and complimentary mini-bar, Bogner toiletries, natural light in the large bathrooms, Japanese-style toilet, Tivoli radio in the bathroom, etc.). As a regular visitor to Zurich, I was just expecting more from the top rated hotel on... More

i cannot understand the ratings: my stay was disapointing! i travelled on business and since i am semi-professional cyclist i had my bike on my car! the hotel didn't offer me a single place (not even a back room or storage) to take my (7500euro)-bike inside. so i kept it locked on the roof of my car. from that moment... Quiet, comfortable, refined. Clean elegance and attentive service. Lots of nice little touches.

Though a little step aside from luxury Bahnhofstrasse (some 10 minutes walk or three stops by tram), rewards are obvious : extremely intimate atmosphere with nearly impeccable service, balconies or terraces are common Spaciousness of the Suites/Price ratio in hard to compete in Zurich ...

We have stayed at this hotel many times. After getting off an overseas trip, no one could ask for better accommodations. The staff is first class, but sweet and accessible. The room is amazing. It is so quiet and comfortable and immaculate. I cannot say enough great things about The Alden.

Karin and all the staff at the Alden are superb. The service level was phenomenal and uncompromisingly accommodating. I strongly recommend this hotel on all fronts, value, comfort, rooms, service and location. Don't miss out.

A very discrete, boutique, friendly, highly service oriented hotel. Spacious, well furnished rooms, large bathrooms, superb Japanese W/C's, good & reliable food (perhaps a little conservative), A few minutes from Bahnofstrasse.
