We have stayed here whenever visiting Zurich .. it is near enough to the main station (short walk or two stops on the tram), also the lake, and the shops and tourist sites. There is a welcoming bar and two restaurants, including an inner courtyard garden restaurant for the summer months. The refurbished rooms are interesting and possibly a triumph... more

I have stayed at the Glockenhof several times, the most recent being this week (Aug of 2009) I have typically stayed in a double room but this time stayed in a single for about 200 SF per night. I found the room small but adequate in every respect. The staff were attentive and the breakfast was excellent. The best thing... more

The hotel is good, with excellent location and nice breakfast. The decor of the rooms is very nice, only that you must take into account that the bathrooms walls are made of transparent glass, which means that anybody in the room would watch you take a shower, bath or use the toilets. I do not understand what was the architect... more

Somewhat surprisingly, I really liked this hotel. The Glockenhof has really made an effort to be different, mostly failing, but I still commend it highly for trying - other business hotels should do the same. The restaurant, for example, tries to combine traditional wooden panelled walls with minimalist tables and weirdly offputting decor. The menu itself looks fairly contemporary, but... more

A return trip after 2 years .... and the hotel was as good as we remembered. The restaurant has been refurbished - we used it for breakfast only and used the bar area for one meal in the evening. On our other 2 evenings we ate out. The room was extremely comfortable and very quiet, and we loved the modern... more

As other travelers have pointed out, the bathroom arrangement takes a lot of getting used to, even when you are alone in a room. I took me ages to find out how the lighting system works, was even afraid I would have to sleep with the lights on. The hotel should absolutely provide an explanation of how it works. Also,... more

The Glockenhof hotel is located right in the middle of the city, very close to the main street of Zurich (excellent for brand name shopping), and very close to the Stock Exchange and the financial district. Its about a 5 to 10 minute walk to the main Zurich train station. The room that I stayed in was quite modern. Obviously... more

Nice enough hotel smack in the centre of Zürich close to the main shopping street Bahnhofstrasse. It's clean and tidy and the staff are helpful, but it's nothing to get too excited about. The breakfast buffé is a bit poor. I'd give it 3½ stars. more
