This is a great little place to stay in Zürich. Maybe the owner wants to keep it a secret. It is affordable, tucked away in a residential area, but still close enough to the main train station. We were very heartily welcomed at about 09:00 pm by the man behind the bar, who was so enthusiastic, that though we were... More

First of all, people complaining about the noise coming from the restaurant are kinda funny: you should know that if you are staying in a room over a pub, you should expect some noise. Although, it really wasn't that bad. The place is super charming and comfy. They clean the whole place every morning. You get a nice bathroom with... More

Great little place. It's in a quiet residential area, a few minutes from the main train station and easily accessible from several tram routes. Very clean (I checked everywhere) and cute room. The noise from the pub wasn't too bad, and I travel with ear plugs regardless. The staff/owners are very friendlyand helped me with a few things to do... More

Clean with accessable bathrooms on floor. Some people may complain about noise but we were perfectly aware that it were rooms above a pub before booking and in fact enjoyed the liveliness of the place. Sound proof windows elimated all sound/noise but an Airconditioner would be welcomed especially in summer. Close to Bus & Tram station and only 10 min.... More

A really nice and cosy place with fantastic personel. Quite close to the main station although in a quiet and relaxing location (according to us.) People complaining about sounds should try Langstrasse/Helvetiaplatz instead and see what noisy really is :) Nothing more to say, really nice place for a good price in Zurich.

My wife and I booked one night here during a one-day layover during a trip from the states to Italy based on the recmendations in one of the travel books we picked up at Barnes & Noble. It is now 3:30 am as we write this unable to sleep because of the noise coming from the first floor. When they... More

Kafischnaps is definitely the place to stay if you like somewhere quirky and fun, with a happening bar and cafe downstairs... I stayed one night in the 'cherry blossom' room, which was very cute with its old iron door in the room (something to do with the previous life of the place as a butcher shop, I presume) and two... There are some reviews on TP where guests are complaining about the music downstairs. I think this makes the charm of this hotel . I mean where else can you go where you can mingle with locals watch a concert in the evening and being one block from where everything happens? Plus in a city where the average hotel price... More

It was real excitement to stay at this small hotel which is combined to a stylish restaurant / bar in Zuerich 4. They had nice food and some good drinks while hosting a small concert. Rooms (maybe four or five) are retro in style but very cosy. Some feature a balcony, but bathrooms on the floor. Kitchen available. Beside all... More

The Kafischnaps was not awful, it was OK. Its main problem was that it hadn't made its mind up if it was a bar or a pension. You book in through the bar and are taken up to the first floor to your room. There's only one bathroom and a separate toilet for a possible nine guests, so all of... More
