The hotel is excellent, the staff are friendly, helpful, and courteous, and the restaurant is first class! Although I was here on business, I would welcome another trip to explore Zug and the surrounding area, using the Hotel Ochsen as a base.

A really good hotel where I stayed in a nice and spacy room. Friendly and helpful staff. Only downpoint was the breakfast that seems a bit 'thin, cheap, weak' compared to the rest of the hotel. I have stayed in most of the hotels in Zug/Baar and this one is in top3.

The hotel is in a nice location in the centre of Zug. There is a little bit of life around (restaurants, wine bars). Comparing to the luxury you feel in the area of Zug, the hotel is very lean. Rooms have only the basics but are clean, quite and warm. WiFi is free but slow. Staff is polite.

Apart from the perfect location, this is a charming historic hotel with friendly relaxed ambience and welcoming staff. I stayed here for business and would be happy to choose this hotel again for next trip. The reasons I have not rated this 5 star: as delightful as the historical clock tower is close-by, it does chime on the hour throughout... More

Boutique hotel, great staff, roomy rooms, clean and with excellent location, close to lake, business, shopping and restaurants. WIFI is free and great. Housekeeping is great, bathrooms are roomy and equipped. Not much for views. I stayed there twice and will go back again. By American standard, I found it too pricy for the value, but it is Switzerland!

Stayed here for one night on business this week so unfortunately didn't get to see much of Zug, although the lake area looks stunning. It is very easy to get here from Zurich airport - simply take a train from the airport, which costs CHF 18 one way. There are several options every hour, but only one per hour doesn't... More

Excellent hotel, rooms are very basic (seems to be Ikea furnished). Staff is very professional and quite helpful. Travel to the Zurich airport via Taxi is not recommend, very $$. It would be nice for the hotel to have an airport service of some kind.

Dear guest Thank you very much for your review. I'm happy that you enjoyed staying with us. Our Superior rooms are indeed designed in a natural and sustainable way, with wood and stone and no plush around. But the rooms are not Ikea furnished, instead all the furniture were individually carved by a local carpenter. You are right that the... More

One of the most beautiful succssfull mixing between modern design and historical wall that i have seen. Some effort for welcome during the night can be improve, asking for id card and watching it as "polizei" migration dpt, don't get a good first impression, and no answer from the desk during night at this level is not really acceptable ....... This hotel is wonderfully-located within walking distance of the Station and more importantly from the lake, which is a popular summer bathing area for man and swan alike. whilst the hotel restaurant boasts many accolades, beautifully-terraced village restaurants are too good to miss. our room had magical views of various church towers, which have stood the test of time. The... More
