Picked this hotel for its close proximity to Chateau Chillon which was a pleasant 10-15 mins walk along the lakeside promenade. Hotel Masson may be situated in Veytaux but the main town of Montreux is just a short bus ride away. Moreover, you get a Free Bus Pass upon Check-In that entitles you to complimentary travel on all bus routes... more

We're a couple with a 9 year-old daughter. We stayed in room 10, and were delighted that our daughter had the adjoining room 9 for her very own as part of the rate. Our 2nd floor balcony was covered in climbing vines, and even though it was close to 90F, the room stayed cool with the breeze off Lac Leman.... more

We stayed at Hotel Masson for just one night. The location was great -- out of the city center and an easy walk to Chateau du Chillon. We used the free bus pas to take the bus into town for dinner and then walked back along the lake front, with stunning views of the moon over the Alps. The hotel... more

rather old fashioned, slightly faded elegance, beautiful views, very obliging staff. Perhaps a bit pricey but we thought it was well worth it. more

The hotel is clean and nicely presented. A great location with a lovely walk along the foreshore to the Chataeu De Chillion. The room had a fantastic view. The beds however were rather uncomfortable and in Swiss style were separate. The only trouble was it was our 4th wedding anniversary! We had dinner in the hotel restaurant which was okay,... more

If you want to stay at a place that welcomes you from the movement you arrive until the movement of departure this is the place to stay. The entire staff supports your every need. Given that you are situated just on the edge of town, dinner at the hotel was a nice way to end the day. The walk along... more

The pictures and reviews of this hotel suggested it would be a pleasant place to stay, especially as it was off the main drag and presumably peaceful. However, the reality was somewhat different. Yes, it was off the main drag but a motorway ran overhead and could be heard clearly from our rooms. Yes, the staff were very friendly and... more

My seven-year old son and I stayed at the Masson for 2 nights in mid-June. It's in Montreux, but isn't glitzy, but rather comfortable and homey. We have a room with a patio, opening to the lovely garden. Two children of other guests were playing in the garden when we arrived, so we knew it would work for us. The... more

We stayed at the Masson for one night whilst making a flying visit to Montreux and it was a very pleasant experience. Reputedly the oldest hotel in town it is full of character, very much a family run place (even if they are not all family!) and rather creaky - the hotel, not the staff! The food was excellent and... more
