First the upside - large rooms, right on the lake shore with balconies overlooking both the lake and the mountains in the distance, relatively easy parking curbside, nicely appointed though old-fashioned public areas. Relatively cheap prices for a 4 star property, to boot. Unfortunately, there are downsides, too. The rooms and their furniture have a tired, almost shabby look. And... More

Stayed her for two nights whilst visiting someone in the Clinic Valmont. it is a gorgeous hotel, beautiful refurbished. Postion excellent to walk along the lake front, flowers in bloom, Freddy Mercury Statue fun to see. This is by the Casino and there is a brilliant display inside - like a studio set up with lovely mementos on display and... More

I give this a 3.5. Lovely property with friendly staff and a unique indoor olympic pool next to the lake. But, do not expect 4 star luxury. The rooms and common area are a bit frumpy and threadbare in places. If you plan to be out and about, this is a nice place to lay your head. And, if it... More

We (family with two children 7 & 10) recently stayed here for a weekend. The hotel shared some of its facilities with a health clinique. (NB: I went through the clinique's brochure, but their prices are too high for me.) We had booked a Junior Suite, which was about 300 CHF/night. The room was lovely; one nice double bed and... More

We thought it would be cool to stay in the hotel where Deep Purple recorded Smoke on the Water without thinking it through. The hotel was obviously very chic at some point in it's past but was now a little tired, there were very other guests. The room was very nice with some absolutely fantastic views. Given so few guests... More

This is a wonderful hotel, albeit a bit old-ish. The staff were marvelous to us. Many anglo-phone tourists don't know how to ask questions politely in Europe and the complaints we read in reviews here surprised us. The hotel does not have a five star concierge to spoon feed restaurant information to guests, but there is plenty of information in... More

Recently stayed with family. room faced the water and had very nice view. Room were nice. This is the best part of the hotel. Agee with other reviewers. 1 front desk staff are unacceptable. Asked for diner suggestions. Pointed to the downtown area. Not one helpful comment. 2 smell. There is an odd smell. Maybe has to do with connection... More

I stayed in the hotel for business in the last week of November 2013. The room was large with the nice lake view. However, it was stuffy and had some weird smell. The breakfasts were nice - with a nice choice of fruits, bread and cheeses. For drinks, there were juices, teas, infusions and a variety of coffee. The upsetting... More

We just wanted somewhere to stay last minute so booked this hotel as was only one available. On arrival there is nothing 'grand' about this hotel believe me! It looks more like a 2 star from the exterior, inside it is much more inviting as I think the lobby, lounge area must have been upgraded at some point unlike the... More

This hotel is in a 100-year-old building and does show its age in some ways; however it is well-maintained. We had a corner room which was a good size; the bathroom had been renovated, but the best thing by far was the balcony looking directly out over Lake Geneva, It was the perfect place for morning coffee or for an...
