Intended to stay in Montreux but all lakeside hotels were full. Luckily we drove up the steep hill to Glion and were delighted to spend the night in the Victoria Hotel. Knowing it was in the Relais and Chateaux Group we realised it would not be cheap, but we really enjoyed our stay. We chose a room (56) on the... more

We stayed in Room 2, overlooking lake, with our own private deck and separate sunroom. The hotel has an incredible view of Lake Geneva and is in a perfect position to take the cog railway to Rochers de Naye as well as visit Chateau de Chillon and Montreux itself. However, if not driving, be aware it is a steep 5... more

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Victoria for the first several days of our honeymoon and it was everything that we hoped for. The room was comfortable with amazing views of Lake Geneva and the surrounding mountains. The service was warm and inviting - we were treated like honored guests they were happy to have back even though it... more

We were here a couple of times in the last few years. This fact alone tells me that we like the hotel. Nothing has changed, same as it ever was. The staff is generally very friendly, and if someone has other experience, it might be a language problem. Don't forget that this is a French speaking region. Anyhow, the weather... more

Stayed in this lovely grand Victorian hotel for 4 nights . We booked a junior suite with 3 adults and it was enormous. Beautifully furnished in keeping with the era. Arrived in Montreux by train & then hopped on a cogwheel train up the hillside where we were still faced with a rather steep 5 minute walk to the hotel.... more

This is a19th century, old-fashioned grand hotel in a stunning position above Lake Geneva. Wonderful views from the gardens, the terrace and many of the rooms, which -- especially in the older part of the building -- are large, airy and calm. If you are an interior design historian, the bathrooms are a must. Somebody spent a great deal of... more

We stayed at the Victoria hotel for two nights with two small children. We had a lovely suite overlooking the lake and mountains. It was very nice with antiques and lovely bedlinen. The housekeepers were very nice but the hotel front desk staff were horrible. They treated us with contempt. If it was because we had children, I don't know.... more

My husband and I spent a memorable weekend at the Hotel Victoria. The view is breathtaking, the food was delicious, and our room turned out to be a very spacious suite. It is also kids friendly with a changing table, diapers and towelettes available in the restaurant's bathroom and plenty of room for them to run around in the beautiful... more

I’ve stayed at the Victoria (----) four times since 1995, and it remains my favorite for ambiance, panoramic views, and service. The furnishings and décor are old-world Belle Epoque, in keeping with the area and the period. Each room is decorated individually and beautifully. The panoramic views from the rooms and the terrace are stunning, taking in the lake from... more

Spent a few days in this hotel for the third time within a year. We had a magnificent suite which seemed to be a free of charge upgrade. If you visit this hotel you have to love old fashioned furniture, antiques and curiosities. It's just full of it, appearing to be from the 18th/19th/beginning 20th century. Most rooms have a... more
