TO begin, the staff are friendly and my room was clean but had issues. No wifi access despite the assurance, no tea coffee facilties except in the restaurant (3 sfr for a cup). The fridge kept defrosting and making a racket. Pricey for a hostel. Pillows flat and towels not provided which is annoying and mattress very thin. The rooms... More

I spent 7 days at the Youth Hostel. The positive points: + Even though It is located quite far from the centre with the free pass for public transport that they provide, you can easily reach the centre of lausanne (bus + metro). + The breakfast was very good and filling. Definitely worth it. They even one day let us... More

Depending on where your room is, you might end up hearing noises from the highway. The shower had not been cleaned but the rest of the room seemed fine. The mattress was in a very poor condition - however for a hostel I wasn't expecting too much comfort so all in all it was ok. As a hostel guest, you... More

I would highly recommend this hostel. I stayed for 5 nights from 30th August 2013 in a single room with shower. This place is great if you are looking for clean, comfortable accommodation, friendly staff (speaking many languages) and a great breakfast. It is located slightly further away from the centre of Lausanne but the number 25 bus stop is... More

My Partner and I stayed here as part of our European Road trip. Pros: The hostel has a good location, close to the lake and the IOC and easy to get to/from the west. The rooms are nice and there is lots of info available, you also get a travel card for the duration of your stay. Cons: This hostel... More

My husband and I stayed two nights at this youth hostel, don't think we could have read the reviews before we left home but have to agree with the majority that this really is not a great place to stop off. We only had a brief time in Lausanne and thought it would be central (which it was) and good... More

We stayed in a private room and had a significant theft during the morning cleaning hours. We later learned of another theft earlier in the week. Also, the staff frequently smoked just outside the open doors and the hostel usually smelled of second-hand smoke. I would not stay here again!

Its mostly a very good place if you are someone looking for a few days of cheap stay in Laussane. Its decently priced and serves good on a student budget. The rooms are nice and clean and so are the bathrooms. However, to be noted that the bathrooms are the size of cupboards. The location is central, not far from... More

While I wouldn't go so far as to say it was terrible, my experience staying for 3 weeks in this hostel made me excited to move on to a different location. For starters, the building that it's in is basically made of a bunch of concrete slabs without any character whatsoever. The rooms are quite dark, with small windows, and... More

As I had to go to Lausanne last minute, my usual hotel was already fully booked and I had to find something on a budget. So I stayed in the Jeunotel for 5 days. Next time I'll gladly pay the extra 100 CHF/night, I guess. The rooms are marginally clean, way too warm (without a good means to ventilate) and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The city of Lausanne stands on a hill and has steep, narrow streets, so strong muscles are required, particularly for the uphill climb to the cathedral, the most important Gothic monument in Switzerland. Window-shop in the bric-a-brac and antique shops or take a breather in one of the numerous bistros and bars, or along the lovely promenade of the former fishing village of Ouchy, in the Musée de la Photographie, which is worth a visit, or at the Swiss Cinémathèque (with its picture archive of famous Europeans) or Olympic Museum (the only one in the world). ... more   less
