I work in Lausanne 4 days a week so am very familiar with the hotel standards. I decided to branch out from my usual and try Alpha-Palmiers but it was a huge mistake. It is a decent, central location and the rooms are basic quality fittings, but generally clean and fine. A colleague in a different room had an unusual... More

We chose this hotel for our last night in Switzerland as it is very close to to the railway station; uphilll/downhill on cobbled streets but close. A well appointed hotel with spacious rooms. Close to many interesting streets in the old town. Very well priced although we have noticed vert differing prices in other reviews? We would return. The staff... More

As said in the title. Very good rooms. Hotel itself is clean and well looked after. Bit confusing at first with the lift situation as if you are on. Floor higher than 3 then you have to get 2 lifts to get to your room. Strange !! Wifi works well, good pressure in shower and bed very comfortable including the... More

If the hotel is full, putting guests in Room 434 at the amount they pay is NOT acceptable! Imagine drawing a circle and then drawing a square around it. They made a tiny room in the triangular area at the sides to maximize revenues! This is not fair. Is this what you do to guests who come back to your... More

Location - excellent. Just a few 100 metres above the train station. Easy access to Metro. It is an expensive hotel (200 CHF/night without breakfast) - certainly by EU standards, if not Switzerland. The Thai restaurant is good, and reasonably priced. A beer in the bar is 9CHF which is pricey. The breakfast gives a reasonable range of food for... More

The bedroom was super large for a European hotel, and being right in the center of the town makes it an ideal choice. Railway station is walkable distance, same for most buses and subway. Only drawback can be with the noise during the Saturday nights, with party people who are loud on the street while walking to the station, so... More

My room was like a studio apartments, equipped with a fridge. Lots of space so great if you want to spread out, get work done. A nice fitness room with sauna. The hotel has a lovely bar space next to the in house Thai restaurant, which serves very good food. Hotel is an easy walk uphill from the train station.

Double bedrooms are actually two single ones close to each other. The same applies to the sheets and blankets. We asked to have the two single duvets replaced with a double one but they could not accommodate -- a real shame. Would not rush back.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights on University business. Our experience matches that of other commentators: basic furniture, clean (but stained) carpets, adequate staffing, narrow bath/shower combination with cheap shower-head and a toilet seat that you'd get for 99 cents back in the states. Turning on the bathroom light illuminates the entire room, so bring eyeshades. On... More

This hotel is most definitely not a 4 star establishment. The rooms are large but very cheaply decorated. The beds are not very comfortable and they are extremely spongey. More like camping beds than the divans one would expect from a quality hotel. I had a room on the second floor overlooking the street which was extremely noisy even though... More
