We chose to take the Matterhorn view room and wow...the next morning we opened eyes to mountain view with clouds and silence broken only by flowing water in canal below. The reception is manned by friendly lady who immediately got our heater in room fixed. The room was cosy and had a balcony where we enjoyed having drink late in... More

The man and woman who run this place are incredibly warm and friendly. The included breakfast is substantial, there is a view of the Matterhorn from the hotel, great location, free wifi, very clean. Would definitely go back. More

The hotel is part of the bigger hotel Metropol which is right next door. We had our meals there. And what meals did we have. The best breakfast in Zermatt. Alfa was absolutely great. Our room overlooked the Matterhorn with sun pouring in during the day. The rooms were clean, staff very helpful and friendly, close to ski lifts. and... More

We upgraded to the Matterhorn view room when we arrived. We could sit on the balcony or lie in bed and get a fantastic view of this spectacular mountain. We were very pleased with the room, although we couldn't get the free WiFi on the third floor. But no big deal. Just go down to the lounge, also with the... More

Nice place to stay with good breakfast next door at their pricier sister hotel "Metropol". Price was very favorable relative to other options in Zermatt. Great central location and comfortable albiet small room. Franziska, one of the owners was very friendly, engaging and helpful. Her husband, Gabriel, was OK though curt to hotel guests BUT A SURLY JERK TO HOTEL... More

Nice staff, but the room was realllly tiny. Separate toilet and shower. There's a tap and mirror in the room. Couldn't open luggage fully in the room. Hotel is a couple of minutes walk from the train station, reachable after calling hotel staff for instructions. Hotel is up a few steps so pretty difficult with a luggage... More

Alfa Zermatt is fantastic value for money. The decor is fairly old, but the rooms are spotlessly clean. The service is fantastic. It's a fairly short stroll from the train station, we managed to find it without a map. Some services, such as breakfast, are offered by the more upmarket hotel next door, so the quality was first rate there.... More

We went to Zermatt to take the Glacier train to Chur. Zermatt is a car-free zone, it therefore was very convenient that the Hotel was within easy walking distance of the train station. We were there beginning of June, i.e. before the main season began. Possibly as a result, the reception at the Hotel was not occupied. However, we saw... More
