My wife, 14-year-old son and I just returned from a wonderful week in Zermatt. My wife and I visited Zermatt in the winter of 2001, so we were no strangers to the town. On our previous journey we stayed at the wonderful Hotel Julen (directly across from the Bellerive). The Julen, however, has become one of the more expensive hotels... more

We were so very impressed and pleased with our stay (Dec 27 - Jan 2) at the Hotel Bellerive. The hotel's website notes that it is a member of the Small Elegant Hotels of the World group, and it surely is. The room was warm and big enough for the two of us. We had the most awesome view of... more

Zermatt is simply beautiful and seeing Matterhorn for the first time makes you want to return for more. Bellerive is located centrally and less than 10 minutes from the train station. On arrival we were picked up directly at the station by the hotel's owner. The place is beautifully furnished and hosted with warmth by the owner, Mario. We spent... more

Fantastic 4**** star hotel! We stayed at the Bellerive for a week, and could have stayed forever. PERFECT view of the high and mighty Matterhorn from our room (even from the bed! #402), and a lovely, large flowery balcony, with lounge chairs and warm sunshine. Our room was extra comfortable, and the huge flatscreen TV a real treat! Their 250... more

I can't say enough about this hotel. It says 3 stars on the door, but felt like 4 stars to us. Conveniently located about 10 mins walk from the station - and it's an easy walk - go up to the church and turn left to cross the river. The hotel is a block or two up on your left.... more

My husband and our 2 sons stayed at this hotel in April. It is at the far end of the little town, not an un-manageable walk from the train station. I think if you called them, they would come get you and your luggage. The town only permitts electric cars, but they have little taxis, too. Hotel Bellerive was very... more

We had a WONDERFUL time in Zermatt and it was largely due to the Hotel Bellerive! Zermatt was our final stop after four months in Europe...and probably our favorite. The Bellerive rooms are spectacularly clean and VERY comfortable...with incredible swiss duvets. The staff speaks great english and was very willing to help us with anything we needed. They provide a... more

We had a very good stay in Zermatt. The room is new and clean. The down blanket is so comfortable. Breakfast is superb! It's in the center of Zermatt. I will definitely stay there again. more

The Bellireve hotel turned out to be an excellent buy. Situated just a few steps across the narrow river from the main commercial street it seems a world away from the upscale shops and tourist hordes. There is a grocery store nearby, several good cheap restaurants, and a lot of peace and quiet. We had registered relatively late and could... more
