Make sure you splurge on the matterhorn view room, it's pretty cool to sit out on your balcony in the afternoon with a drink, looking at the mountain. We stayed here for 2 nights, very clean and comfortable room and bathroom, excellent breakfast, and very quiet. Not too far from town, the last climb uphill to the hotel can be... More

We stayed in this hotel. The view of the Matterhorn from our balcony was awesome. The staff is nice and rooms are also nice. We enjoyed the breakfast in the dining area which is covered but you feel as if you are in the open area or in the garden. It was particularly nice as it was winter and we... More

As other reviewers have commented, it's a bit of a hike up a hill to the Bijou Hotel and away from the main rail station. However, on the plus side - once there, providing there's snow you can always ski down the path to the lifts in the morning which only takes minutes. We arrived rather late on xmas eve... More

What a fantastic 2 weeks we had, Accomodations were great. The food was delicious with lots of greens and fruit provided as well. Andreas and Julia run a warm and friendly hotel. Also just a 4 minute walk to the gondola. Enjoy this traditional Swiss hotel.!!.

We are so thankful for Tripadvisor's correspondents' comments. This hotel was absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the shoulder season and were given a room with a classic view of the Matterhorn for the same price I've paid for a view of the prairie in Broken Pelvis, Montana. What a bargain. The room was clean, clean, clean. Andreas Paci, the owner/manager,... More

The first thing you need to know is how to get there. It is at the opposite end of the village from the railway station, but a bus (Red Line) goes pretty much all the way. The stop is "Kapelle Winkelmatten" which is opposite a small church. There is a footpath (Winkelmattenweg) going off to the right and when it... More

We just returned from a European trip in which we stayed in 15 hotels in 15 cities. I will only write reviews for the 3 best, and the Bijou makes the cut. Andreas was very helpful planning our few days in Zermatt. Location for skiing is ideal, as it is close to the gondola, but downtown is also just a... More

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights last February. Andreas & his staff are very friendly and helpful. We also love Andreas' very friendly black Lab pup. It is an owner operated hotel & it shows that Andreas enjoys his work & cares for his guests. Email and phone communications with Andreas were very responsive. Good communication prior to... More

We stayed at the Hotel Bijou from March 9-11 and we were very impressed with the level of service and friendliness of the staff. I had booked the wrong dates and when I realized it, I managed to get in touch with the hotel and the owner Andreas changed the dates with no extra charge. Not many hotels would do... More

The owner Andrea and the staffs are very friendly and helpful. Nadine who was our waitress during our stay, she was always there to help us and making sure we were enjoying our stay. I have an eight year old who is a picky eater, Andrea and Nadine helped me with her meals. The chef makes the most delicious home... More
