This is the kind of hotel you want when you are in Switzerland. It is small, family run, and perfect for a stay in Zermatt. The hotel sits on a hillside and has wonderful natural rock walls from the mountain where it sits. It is a steep walk from town but the hotel has a small, electric cart which can... More

A quaint and a fairy tale of a hotel, this was the best hotel we had on our trip to Switzerland. Lying in the fairy tale town of Zermatt, Hotel Tschugge is a rustic, wooden charm on the cliff of a hill. The view from our balcony was absolutely stunning with the whole town beneath us. I would love to... More

This hotel was about 10 minutes walk into the town centre . Some rooms looked out to the Matterhorn. It was a great hotel. Rooms were great and staff so friendly and courteous. What ever you do don't get washing done there , most of the items were my wife's , there was not much at all. It cost me... More

This hotel is located on a hillside above the downtown area of Zermatt. If you are walking to it from the train station, as we did, be prepared for a climb. As an alternative, you can take a taxi for about 15 francs. In our case, the hotel provided portage services and accommodated guests in our group who could not... More

Location When i arrived in Train station, the electric Car pick me up to the hotel. It needs 5 minutes, because in Zermat there's No car, everybody walk in the city. Maybe we need 10-15 minutes by walk from Train station to the hotel, because the street to the hotel is narrow, you need 'climb'. The Train station is in... More

Stayed one night here. Rooms were big and spacious. Balcony was good for overlooking the mountains. Staff was friendly and helpful. Do not expect too much for the breakfast. Was rather simple. Hotel is located on the hill top and access to hotel is a little tiring bringing luggage to the top from the train station. Without luggage it's a... More

We stayed one night while on a Cosmos Swiss Alps tour. Great staff, nice rooms, great sleeping conditions. It is a tourist hotel, great price for a town like Zermatt. The only downside would be the 10min. walk to the train station which seamed like it was uphill both ways........

During 2 weeks in Switzerland, this was my favourite hotel. Stayed 2 nights in summer and didn't want to leave. Tschugge is your traditional Swiss chalet-type hotel, cosy and comfortable, but with great amenities for everything you need. Staff were welcoming, friendly, chatty and went out of their way to ensure everyone felt at home ..attending to any needs promptly ..... More

People often look for a hotel right next to one of the lifts and miss fantastic value places like this one - and it has a hotel schuttle running every half hour around ski times. It is a very short climb just off the centre of Zermatt, built into the rockface (look at the photos on the booking sites -... More

We've stayed in the zermatterhof and elsewhere and as a 4 star ski hotel it is definitely worth it's rating and we'd certainly go back there again. Spacious room for the three of us with a fabulous view across the valley day and night. True you can't see the Matterhorn but you do see it all day! Decent breakfast, clean... More
