We stayed in this hotel for one night. The walk from the train station to the hotel was very long especially if you are carrying your own backpacks (possibly 15-20 minutes), but I did appreciate the quieter surroundings of the hotel once we arrived. Knowing that we would be going up to Schwarzsee Hotel for the next 2 nights, I... More

Stayed here as part of a tour package and was very impressed. The hotel is a ways away from the train station in Zermatt, so it was a bit of a walk. However, the hotel came and took our luggage for us in the "taxi" (electric golf cart since no cars in Zermatt). The hotel is a traditional Swiss style... More

I stayed at this hotel during the first week of March 2014 together with friends (we booked three double rooms including half-board) for our annual skiing holiday. Conveniently located, within 10-minutes’ walk to the ski bus, as well as close to the centre - for those enjoying shopping and après-ski activities! It is a quiet, “no frills” family-run hotel that... More

Good value for money. Our triple room at the top floor on the southside of the hotel (which provides Matterhorn view) had stairs leading to a separate area, with sofa and bed for one; that makes our child very happy in having his private space above our heads. Good breakfast and dinner, spacious bathroom, nice view from the balcony. Quiet,... More

A quiet family run hotel which we found to be friendly and well situated for both the skier and non-skier! Our Matterhorn view was wonderful to wake up to each morning. Breakfast and the two evening meals we had were excellent. As it was Christmas during our stay the basket of nuts and chocolates were well appreciated. The transfer to... More

Compared to many other Swiss hotels in top skiing areas, Hotel Capricorn is miles ahead. It's very clean, furbished in a modern but rustic fashion and it wasn't very noisy at all (but still close-by the action of the center of town). Recommend!

We stayed in Hotel Touring in January 2013. I am late in writing this review, but still wanted to share our experience. We selected this hotel from the Fodors travel book as a good value for the money. We had a very nice corner room and the views of the snow covered town and the Matterhorn were amazing. The room... I stayed in the Hotel Capricorn (formerly the Hotel Touring) as a member of a nine-strong walking group at the beginning of July. The hotel was selected by a group member who had stayed there previously. The hotel was fine, my only disappointment being that my room had a skylight, rather than a window, which was a bit claustrophobic. The... More

The rooms are clean and very nice. HOWEVER – the hospitality of the owner was very poor. Internet - we got for one day although we booked 2 X rooms for 2 nights. Breakfast - very minimalist. The coffee had no coffee taste at all; I never had such a bad coffee in Switzerland. If you want Croissants you have... More

Dear guest Thank for your review. Your review helps us to improve ourselves and to increase the quality of our hotel. We give our best to serve a tasteful breakfast. The food (like coffee or jam) is good quality and we order that, like the most of the hotels in Zermatt, from regional suppliers. When the croissants or something else... More

We stayed at this hotel during the ski week in February of 2013. We were lucky enough to have stayed in one of the new rooms. Our room was excellent. Hard wood floors, big, bright with ample room. My kids stayed in a far corner of the hotel where the room was much smaller with old carpeting, dark with hardly... More
