Excellent hotel with great friendly helpful staff, comfortable well equipped rooms and a really good breakfast. Also brilliant location only 2 minutes from the train station and right in the heart of town. Highly recommended.

The Alphubel is a very nice, small hotel in the center of Zermatt. Food was excellent (especially the soup) and great value for money given the prices elsewhere in Zermatt. It is a few mins walk from the station but they will pick you up in an electric taxi if needed,. Our room was a triple and was a good... More

Easy access to ski slopes via Gornergrat railway or ski bus from outside Gornergrat station. Excellent four course dinner for those choosing half board. Good breakfast selection. Choice of rooms at various price levels. Free wi-fi. Comfortable lounge. Sauna. No tour operators offer this so for independent travellers. I have been using this hotel regularly for many years and have... More

If you are looking for a very comfortable/romantic hotel that is a little special then this is probably not for you. However if you are looking for somewhere clean and reasonable to stay while spending all your time skiing in Zermatt then this may be a good fit. The room/bathroom was clean but the decor is very dated/jaded. The food... More

Located in the center and close to the 2 transports up the hills. Very friendly, good service. The food in the restaurant is good, a little heavy. Some of the rooms are small, but adequte and would need an interior decorator, the management being obviously somewhat old fashioned! Due to good price in high season 4****.

We stayed here for two nights after booking at the TI at the train station as we were unsure we'd be coming due to the weather. The hotel was clean, comfortable and convenient with a lift to the rooms and a balcony looking over a pretty garden outside the room. We had internet access in the room. It was easy... More

We have stayed at Alphubel during first week of new year. Although we were a bit reserved before going there as it was not a well known hotel chain, we were pleasantly surprised. Hotel location is excellent. The rooms are big enough (you don't spend much at the hotel anyways) with a nice little balcony overlooking mountains and the street... More

I have stayed the Alphubel Hotel in Zermatt 4 times. While it is a 2-star hotel, it is very clean and well run by Bruno Julen and his brother. The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner for hotel guests only. The food is very good. The rooms are clean and well appointed for the price (about Sfr 116 with half board.... More

Zermatt has got to be one of the most expensive places to get a hotel in Switzerland, so the Alphubel is a breath of fresh air if you don't want to spend 500 CHF a night. The location is perfect - 5 minutes from the train station and gornergrotbahn, the breakfast has everything you need (cereal, fruit, meat, cheese, bread,... More

Had a wonderful stay at the Alphubel in Zermatt. Spent three nights and I felt right at home. The manager was helpful and the staff, was quiet as a mouse! Free internet service, a nice breakfast and a great location just about 200 yards to the train station - which you never hear since it is electric! The bed was... More
