This is a fantastic hotel situated on the main street of the village. Caroline the owner was welcoming and very helpful throughout our stay whilst her husband was busy in the kitchen. All the staff were really friendly and accommodating. The food was lovely with choices of main course and offers to cook on request for our children, although with... More

This place has a lot going for it and my criticisms might not be relevant for everyone. Great points: location, staff, service, spa/wellness. We didn't eat in the hotel but both restaurants appear to have excellent reputations. Negatives - we were on a skiing vacation and the boot/ski room is appalling. Each room has a designated gym style locker with... More

This was our first time staying at the Walliserhof. We had a nice room at the front, but be warned it can be noisy if like me you (try) to sleep with the window open. However we were offered a room at the back. Zermatt is an expensive resort, so the Walliserhof is relatively reasonable. To me it feels more... More

If you are looking for a centrally located hotel, right in the middle of the main street of Zermatt, there can be no better place to stay than the Walliserhof. As a family of three we had a room on the third floor, with an electrically operated "sun roof" to boot, which my son found very exciting to say the... More

Hotel is right in the middle of the main street of Zermatt where there is plenty of places to choose from to eat. From the minute you walk in the door you know your in Switzerland. Very quaint with lots of character. Room was beautiful and great bed and bedding. Staff on reception were very helpful and gave us lots... More

This is a very convenient hotel in the heart of town and easy walking distance to everything including the train station. Good thing, as there are no cars allowed in Zermatt except hotel taxis. You just walk right out the door and you are in the midst of shops and restaurants, and a pharmacy to buy your marmot cream. Ha!... More

The hotel is a short walk (~5 min) from the train station. The lobby was quite small but the room was quite big and clean. It was decorated with wood so it gave us the feeling the we were staying in a chalet. The key was old fashioned keys with tassels instead of electronic key card, another charm!! Wifi was... More

When we booked this hotel, we fell in love with its rustic, charming appearance. We only hoped it would be as lovely in reality. Needless to say, we were not disappointed! Our room was one floor up from the lobby, and it was delightful. The walls were wood, and the ceiling had exposed beams. We felt as though we were... More

We had a so-called non-smoking room that stank of cigarette smoke. It was tolerable with the door always cracked. The towels smelled strongly of cigarette smoke - it would seem the linen closet doubled as a smoking room. We had a terrace that ended in a narrow alley way with trash bins. The breakfast was average. I asked for a... More

My wife and I stayed at the Walliserhof for 2 nights in September. It was charming, authentic and perfectly reflected the atmosphere of the mountain resort town of Zermatt. Light wood throughout, heavy old fashioned keys with tassels and a stinky cheese fondue smell as you entered the hotel all contributed to its authenticity. A mountain view from our small... More
