Great hotel with fantastic views of the Matterhorn. Nothing better than sliding into the whirlpool at the end of a day of hiking. The sauna is really, really hot, but the steam room is nice. Delicious dinners, very Swiss. They charge for water at night, but not in the morning. Tap water is good to drink though. Tons of trails... More

Spent 4 days here after 3 nights at the Kulm Again a super ski hotel at a reasonable price (for Zermatt ). Dinner was super and although the menu was set ,if there was anything you didn't like they would always offer an alternative. Ski out at 8.30 am and you'll have your own private ski paradise for at least... More

I have been coming to Zermatt for many years and it has become a firm favourite for skiing in winter and walking and mountaineering in summer. During that time I have stayed in various hotels including the renowned Monte Rosa and more recently the aptly named Grand Hotel Zermatterhof. I have never been disappointed at any of the hotels I... At the arrival, our luggage was transferred to the hotel by the staff and we were brought to our hotel room, which was nice and warm, beautifully designed and very clean. The hotel is perfectly located, making it possible to hit the slopes directly from the hotel. After a long day skiing, the whirlpool and de sauna's are very nice... More

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and cannot stop raving about this hotel and the location. We aren't into apres ski and shopping, so we thought we'd try staying on the mountain. This was the best decision we could have made. Reviews about the food at Riffelhaus honestly do not do it justice. The food we were... More

we were curious to see the brand "new" Hotel, after they made a full renovation during summer time. Everything just looks great, the rooms are very nice, the bathroom beautiful, the Diningroom has not changed a lot but they kept the athmophere. The Lounge in the old Restaurant is a nice place to have Drinks before and after dinner. The new... More

We enjoyed the new year week 2015 in Zermatt and made a lucky draw. The Riffelhaus Hotel has been newly decorated from September till middle of December 2014, therefore we had a brand new comfortable bed and everything still smelled after color and fresh wood. We like the modern cozy style very much and specifically the new wellness area is... More

Part of the fun is getting here - although the little mountain trains are very busy, so with baggage and dog it wasn't so easy! Just a great location - you are high up here, so the first few hours can be a bit breathless. But wow the views. The fresh fresh air. Marvellous. We had a small (but cosy)... More

We were hiking from inn to inn in the Alps. Riffelberg was one of our overnight stops. We hadn't understood that it is actually a huge ski lodge. We enjoyed our time even though we had wanted a mountain inn. The room was cozy with a view of the Matterhorn and the food was quite good.

The beauty of the Riffelberg is the historic house that makes your stay just so much more cozy than a random modern hotel. The other beauty is of course the ski in - ski out. Unfortunately if you don't have ski passes for arrival and leave day, you have to pay an extra return ticket with the train which isn't... More
