The rooms at Kamanga are small and spartan, but provide just enough comfort for a week's skiing holiday when you are going to be out of the chalet for 8 hours a day and using the room mainly just for sleeping. If you wanted to spend more time indoors, the lack of facilities could be frustrating. It's definitely worth paying... More

I stayed at chalet kamanga from the 30th jan to 6th feb and I loved every minute!! I went in a group of 20 so we filled the chalet. I haven't got one bad word to say about this chalet, the food cooked by steph was amazin! The breakfast in the mornin was really good and the hot selection was... More

Have just returned from Zermatt haviing stayed at Chalet Kamanga. Wanted to write this review as I didn't feel some of the reviews I have read on this site about Kamanga reflected my own very recent experiences. It is true that the Chalet is situated on a steep hill and that the paths down to the nearest lift can be... More

My wife, myself and 17 year old son stayed at Kamanga in April 2010 with an extended party of friends. Whilst the room accomodation is fairly basic it is perfectly acceptable, some of the rooms are facing the Matterhorn which is a great view. We had one of these. The lounge area is rather too small for the number of... More

Zermatt itself is approx 3 hour coach journey from Geneva Airport and a 10-15 minute train ride where we were picked up by electric-run taxis and taken to our Chalet. Chalet Kamanga is situation on on the outskirts of the beautiful, picturesque village of Zermatt - approx 10-15 min walk down a steep hill. The closest lift station is the... More

This is not a chalet - more like an apartment building. There is no comfy lounge to sit in and relax after a hard days skiing. There is a room in the basement with a couple of old sofas in it and that is supposed to be the lounge - very unappealing and absolutely no character. The dining room is... More

Just to put alamo650_0's comments in perspective, lots of guests have stayed at the Kamanga this season, and several thousand in the last 10 years. Guests' feedback forms this season show that 94% say they had an excellent/good holiday. Food is a very subjective matter though, and whilst we are sorry to see these views, we also know that 92%... We booked via Zermatt Chalets and the description of Kamanga sounded perfect. However the location and standard of accommodation left a lot to be desired and certainly did not meet expectations. Having been to Zermatt several times, this was the worst place we've ever been to. Will not be back! Total Ski were also terrible!

Wonderful holiday and amazing snow conditions. Bathroom window in Flat 2 is definitely STILL broken! (see April 2008 review photo) Chalet staff very knowledgeable about ski area and provided excellent food. Desperately need more pillows in bedrooms - one tiny pillow per bed isn't enough. Chalet generally very comfortable but sitting area is definitely not nearly large enough for 24... More

I felt that I had to write a review of Chalet Kamanga in Zermatt to share the positive experience that my family and I recently had (week 4 January 2009) compared to that of the previous reviewer who stayed there at the end of the last skiiing season. The chalet is not luxurious by any stretch of the imagination but... More
