stayed for 4 nights in the junior suite.beautiful room with 2 small balconies overlooking the lake and 2 full bathrooms.very helpful in the morning because there is 3 of us.Staff was excellent.restaurant good but pricey.20mins walk from city centre,so meals can become repititive and a costly affair.but all in all a great experience.will definitely like to repeat.... more

Lovely experience! What one really expects for a "home away from home", you're immediately part of the "family". Plently of little pubblic areas, individually decorated, lovely pieces of art, you can see the feminine touch behind everything! Everybody goes out of their way to help but not in a "pompous" way. The rooms are not very large, but big enough... more

I had great expectations for this hotel but meet none of them. Their catalogue is beautifully done so give way to your imagination but once you are there you realise that it is an old fashioned hotel for a very old clientele. It made made feel as if I was in my granmother's nursing home. It might have been a... more

Stayed there 3 days in August 2008. Room on the 4th floor with a very comfortable balcony with an absolutely breathtaking view on Lago Lugano and Mount San Salvatore. Very comfortable and spacious room with Air conditioning, complimentary water and fruit as well as twice-a-day cleaning service. Very quiet situation, away from the road. City centre very easily accesible by... more

This is a big, old, European hotel. What that means is that it has its quirks, and cannot be compared to, say, an Omnia in Zermatt for example. So with that caveat in mind, here is an overview: Location: Is great. It is an easy and scenic 10 minute walk to the downtown, but located just enough away that it... more

Hotel is situated in a lovely garden outside the centre of Lugano. Wonderful reception and ajoining rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Elevator looked tacky. Our room was spacious and bright. Comfortable furniture and bed. Balcony had a table with two chairs and also two sun-chairs. Wonderful views of the lake, mountains and town. Bathroom was really not in style, small... more

A 5* hotel that isn't a 5* hotel. I was amazed that a Swiss 5* rated hotel did not live up to expectations. The web site shows a great view of the lake from the park and the private jetty..don't be taken in. There is a busy road between the hotel gardens and the lake side..the private jetty is down... more

We stayed for 2 nights and were a little sceptical at first because it seemed expensive (compared to what we are use to paying for a hotel) & a little older than we had expected. We quickly put all skepticism aside as we enjoyed the view from our patio of the lake and beautiful grounds. We loved that the hotel... more

Stayed here a few times on business and would highly recommend. Yes it is quite but this is exactly what I was looking for after a day in the office. The service is good, very old style, and the view from the room was certainly great to wake up to in the morning. The location is not central but it... more
