I didn't expect much from this hotel and I didn't get much. I needed a place to spend the night between trains (connecting from the Glacier Express from Zermatt to the Trans-Alpine to Vienna). It was not easy to get a reservation for one night in St Moritz during high season and I wanted to spend as little money as... more

I stayed at Sonne from 15-19 Sept 2008 as a single lady traveller and really enjoyed my stay in room 111. I paid CHF105 per night and was in the block next to the main building where the Reception and restaurant are located. I wouldnt say my checkin was super friendly and I didnt receive any helpful tourist information from... more

I have stayed in 150+ hotels in Europe and this is the worst I have encountered since staying in the old Soviet Union. Although the front desk personnel were helpful, the room we stayed in (in the annex, about 300 meters away) was in a dingy building that was dark and worn; we hiked up several floors to our room;... more

The hotel is located in St. Moritz Bad, i.e. a relative newly developed zone from the down town, St. Moritz Dorf. It is close to the lake and it takes a 20 minutes walk to the down centre. It is a nice walk. There is also a bus station in front of the hotel and therefore travelling with luggage should... more

I stayed at the Casa Franco (Hotel Sonne annex) for four nights in February 2008. The Hotel Sonne is a three building complex- The Sonne proper, Casa del Sole and Casa Franco. Hotel Sonne and Casa del Sole are adjacent to one another while Casa Franco is around the corner (1 min walk). Casa Franco's rooms are very small, if... more

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and it is in St Moritz Bad. We had a clean, good size room with a balcony overlooking the mountains. It's only a 1 min walk to the lake and a 10 min walk to St Moritz Dorf (ritzy part of town). It's a 20 min walk to the main train station... more

We (2 retired adults) stayed at the Sonne in St Moritz for 1 night (June 6, 2006). It is a very bright, clean hotel with extra friendly staff (they even did a small load of laundry for us). The large room was very comfortable and quiet. The balcony had tremendous views of the mountains. There is lots of free parking... more

We stayed at the Casa Franco which is an annex of the Sonne, the rooms were clean and had all amenities. We ate breakfast in the Sonne which was satisfying, the staff were very welcoming and very helpful. We ate in the restaurant in the Sonne and the food was good value for the money. We will be staying in... more

The Sonne is a budget hotel by St Moritz standards so if you take this in mind you will not be disappointed by this adequate 3 star hotel. The rooms were very clean and furnished in a simple style with all required amenities. I was impressed by the reasonable prices of the mini-bar which is usually unheard of in Switzerland.... more
