My wife, two older kids and I stayed here for the night. Room was clean and had everything we needed, including a spectacular view of the mountains and the parasailers navigating them. Staff was pleasant, internet worked, showers were hot. We ate lunch at the Stagerstubli (great Rosti with vegetables!), walked the town, went sledding, and visited Gimmewald (short cable... More

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time here and a very romantic and lovely time here. The breakfast was lovely, the restaurant very nice and cozy, and the views are SPECTACULAR. You won't be disappointed. The staff were lovely too. A good night's sleep in an unforgettable spot on Earth.

I have just completed a fantastic two-week stay with my family at the Hotel Alpina in Mürren, for Christmas and New Year. The hotel is located above a cliff overlooking the Lauterbrunnen Valley, with unparalleled views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau; which were simply spectacular in the winter. The hotel is easily accessed from Lauterbrunnen via Grütschalp, which a... More

This hotel has a serious management and personnel problem which needs to change immediately. I am a woman who was traveling alone. I stayed several nights at the Hotel Alpina Restaurant Murren. At 9:46pm, there was a continuous loud knocking on my bedroom door with the hotel waiter, calling my name and asking to come in. I did not respond.... More

I have considered this review for some time and realise this is exactly why Tripadvisor is such a powerful tool for travellers that find themselves without the 'hometown advantage'. We have travelled Europe with our family now for a month (it will be six weeks by the time we head home). This hotel has provided us the worst experience so... More

This hotel offers an unbeatable view of the alps! We enjoyed our visit, and we were even offered a free upgrade to a better room! The staff were very friendly, and the room was nice and clean. Restaurant is only ok for dinner, but we did enjoy our breakfast!

We love Murren. We have visited before and stayed at other places, but the Hotel Alpina was definitely our favorite. We were lucky to have the top floor 2 bedroom corner apartment overlooking the valley. The view was unbelievably gorgeous. The rooms were recently updated and very comfortable and did have Wifi service. Roger and his family were very friendly... More

The people were great. Breakfast was very good. Hotel was dated and worn. I saw many other options there with equivalent views without having to be on the cliff. For the same price we could have been in a much nicer place. The beds didn't have top sheets - just a comforter which seemed unsanitary to me. There were no... More

Dear guest Many thanks for your Feedback. Please note that the A la carte Restaurant/Lounge/reception area/Corner rooms and the mountain view single rooms have been remodeled in 2011. Just recently (October - December 2014) we have remodeled another 4 rooms on the top floor. We really try to improve every year and all of our many repeat guests know that.... More

There are both good news and bad news.... Good - excellent views. It is sitting on a cliff, and the surrounding majestic mountains will leave you speechless. When the sun rise, you can see the (golden) snow flakes blown up from the mountain tops from your balcony. The restaurant also has large windows showing you the view (for breakfast, if... More

The view from this hotel is amazing! Our room faced the mountains and our balcony seemed to hang off a mountain. We were so high up off the valley floor that as the clouds lifted they seemed to enter our room! Our 2 children were thrilled! The dining room has stunning views. The food and service were excellent. Roger, the... More
