After a spectacularly scenic train ride, we arrived onto a peaceful plaza with the most incredible alpine views in 3 directions. The 4th direction is the Hotel Eiger, right in front of you. We heard distant cow bells and spotted alpine wildflowers before even entering the front door colorfully decorated with real edelweiss plants and alpenroses. We were welcomed by... More

Our family of 4 including 2 teenagers just returned from a trip to Switzerland and Germany. Our stay at Hotel Eiger in Muerren was the highlight of it all. The location of this hotel is jaw-droppingly beautiful and the hotel staff was probably the best I have ever encountered. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. When my two boys thought... More

Having booked this hotel through a discount website, I was prepared for somewhere adequate, but not great. In reality it was outstanding - from the moment we arrived we were made to feel like family (probably due to the fact that the people who man reception are actually the owners of the hotel and their relations). They were happy to... More

My husband and I, and our 3 sons (ages 16, 20 and 23) stayed at the Hotel Eiger for 3 nights in August, 2008. We got apartment 617, which is a wonderful suite with 2 bedrooms and a living room. The rooms face the alps. Everything about the stay was wonderful. The entire staff was warm, friendly and very helpful.... More

We traveled to Grindelwald and Mürren with our 4-yr old daughter. In both places we stayed in Eiger hotel (two independent properties) and booked the rooms through the same websites. In all the hotels we have been on our trips, kids younger than 6 stay free if they share a bed with parents. Upon arriving at this Eiger hotel, a... More

Everything about this hotel is outstanding. We stayed in one of the 3 bedroom apartments. All finishings were great: very nice bathrooms, comfortable beds, and exceptionally clean. The views from the front of the hotel are amazing. The restaurants at the hotel are pricey, but the food is excellent. I highly recommend the fondue. Only one minor complaint...no screens on... More

This is a wonderful place to stay. The staff is so nice. The food is wonderful. A little too wonderful. They helped us plan hikes, let us use umbrellas, put chocolates on our pillows, gave us weather forecasts. I got sick and they gave me tons of pillows and offered me soup and tea.

Having stayed in a number of good Swiss hotels I was looking forward to the usual very high Swiss hotel standards. However my stay at the Eiger Hotel exceeded these expectations. I arrived with a large family party - much later than anticipated due to cancelled flights. The owners of the hotel had kept the kitchen open for us and... More

We stayed at Eiger Hotel from 2nd March until 6th March 2008. It was an excellent experience for us. The staffs are friendly (reception and restaurant, and importantly the house keepers) and specifically we want to mention Adrean who picked us up on our mid-night arrival from the cable station. Room and bathroom are perfectly clean and if not mistaken... More

We spent only three nights at Murren and when we came down, we resented seeing cars! It is a very special place. Exciting to reach by rail and cablecar and rail again, but with the efficiency of Swiss Railways, not difficult. The hotel room was clean and large enough for us three and ski gear, warm and comfortable with a... More
