A lovely old hotel in a beautifully scenic town. The hotel was nicely updated given its age, but not overly modernized to removed the historic charm. I would stay here any time.

A lovely old hotel in a beautifully scenic town. The hotel was nicely updated given its age, but not overly modernized to removed the historic charm. I would stay here any time.
My Father and I stayed here in a twin room as part of a Great Rails tour.
The setting of the Hotel is excellent, the staff were friendly and the food was pretty good. My best memory was sitting outside the front of the hotel in the bar (also owned by the hotel) and watching the world go by. It...

We stayed here as part of a group which must bring a great deal of money into the hotel. The room was quite large and spacious but it would have been helpful if the curtains could have been drawn although there is a blind. Bedside locker's drawer had fallen apart. Main objection, and a serious one, was the virtual absence...

Extremely nice people, we got upgraded to a superior room, which was amazingly spacious with high ceiling. The hotel premices are spotless and very beautiful, reminding of the good old times from the Belle Epoque. Breakfast and dinner are good for the price we paid, and service always nice and friendly. The hotel is next door to the bus stop...

We've been to this hotel several times. It's a nice hotel with a beautiful Jugendstil decor, and outstanding interior, rare to find in any other hotel. Also the location is a big plus; only 5 min walk from the trainstation. Mountain view rooms have a beautiful view on the waterfalls. Hardly any noise from the trainstation.
Our room was a...

Hotel with an impressive outside and a singularly underwhelming interior. Rooms are small, with mini-balconies and the tiniest bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel. There is a nice garden at the back. We had an OK dinner (although the first two wines we ordered were not available). Our dog was welcome at dinner but not at breakfast the next...

There is so much to do in this area that one week was not nearly long enough.
The spacious room we had in this hotel was lovely . Spotlessly clean , wonderful views from the TWO windows in our room. The staff were extremely courteous and pleasant .
A beautiful Art Deco interior, but rooms very modern.
A 4 star...

Stayed a week on hols, great location made us select the hotel despite the price tag.
Hotel is at best average, small rooms need not be so disfunctional, e.g. only one bedside table, no drawer space, cramped access to wardrobe, curtians that do not close, 12 inch TV.
Good bathroom, copious hot water.
Noisy railway station behind, all night.

The setting is perfect, it is a quaint little town, the scenery is beautiful beyond explanation, the building, built in 1880 as per the Hotel, is lovely from outside and regal in its splendor from inside.
The rooms are large, we had a regular room , double occupancy for us, our family was in triple occupancy room which was probably...

Merginen in Switzerland is a scenic place by itself and is a good location to visit the must see places in Switzerland ( Mt Titlis, Jungfrau, Interlaken and Luzern).
So in case if one is looking out to be based @ a central place in Swiss and cover all the above mentioned places, Merignen is definately a place to be...
