We stayed at this Hotel for one week in June/July 2009. We had booked with Inghams Tour operator. Our opinion of the Hotel was that: it was comfortable and clean. We were met at reception by the owner who gave us our keys and showed us where the dining rooms were for dinner and breakfast Our room was at the... more

Wife and I stayed here for a winter holiday going sking in thre town of Murren. Transport links to the town and ski resorts are first class with a bus stop right outside the door. Hotel was quiet and certainly not youir typical Hilton but for business people like myself who travel within Europe this is a typical family run... more

Myself and my partner stayed at this hotel for a week before Christmas in 2007. When we arrived there was no--one at the hotel: no staff and no guests. There was a note on the reception counter advising us to telephone a number, which we did. My call was answered by a man who said that he'll be around in... more

Hi, We stayed in this terrible hotel for a night, it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Dont go by the outside appearance, it looks charming and homely. I am not upset because they were not friendly, they room we got, my God, it was the most awful room ever, the room was so tiny and stinging... more

Hotel Sonne is a decent small property which could have been a nice experience for us, but did not, primarily due to the attitude of the owner. He was not very helpful, or cooperative and gave wrong information. On arriving by train, we called the hotel and were told by the owner to take bus number four to reach the... more

We stayed here in June 2005, had two rooms - one for us and one for our 20'ish kids. The hotel did not appear to be busy at all. The owner was sitting outside in the cafe when we arrived, and there were all kinds of papers and things in what should have been the lobby lounge. The rooms we... more

Recommend that you stay away from this hotel... the facilities are very old. The hotel closes at midnight and they do not tell you that you will be charged for a night if your flight is late and you arrive at 12:30am. There is no call service and the front entrance is entirely locked. The staff were also not friendly... more

I stayed at the Hotel Sonne back in 1963 when on my first holiday abroad. The family who ran it, Mr & Mrs Seiler-Barben, a lovely couple, and along with their daughter Ursula, were all friendly and helpful in so many ways making my stay a most memorable one, and this was over forty years ago! The food was good... more

we stayed a couple of nights here while exploring this beautiful area. it looks quite pretty from outside in the traditional wooden style, window boxes full of flowers, balconies etc.. and it is used by some travel agencies for block bookings so it must suit many, but it didn't really satisfy us. the room was ok with a tiny shower... more
