Excellent accommodation for hikers and anyone who enjoys the outdoors. Fritz, the owner, is a very good resource for local activities, hikes, etc. Clearly better than any resource book I purchased (Lonely Planet, Frommer's). I will return to this hotel when I have the opportunity to visit Interlaken again. more

The Hotel Lotschberg is a great place to stay. Very close to Interlaken West train station but far enough that you don't constantly hear the trains. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. This is a great little hotel with everything you need, a great breakfast room, and even winter clothes and boots to borrow if you need them! We arrived a little early for check in, and the check in staff seemed irrtated by that..but we chose this hotel as the train station, restaurants and grocery shopping area is at the doorstep. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and overall we had quite a pleasant stay there. more

The hotel is surely NOT recommended. Both Fritz and his wife are unfriendly and rude. They are not receptive to any issues which you may face. This especially becomes problematic if you are travelling with young children. The rules make you feel like you are in a hostel.
