The Happy Inn Lodge is in a great location in Interlaken West. It is 5 minutes from Interlaken West train station and the ferries for Lake Thunersee. It is located above a bar/restaurant and you have to walk through it to get to the rooms upstairs (there is a side entrance for late nights/early mornings). There's no "reception" just the... More

This pub/ hostel was very friendly and clean. It was easy to find and offered everything you'd want in a hostel. Laid back friendly international flavor to it. If you like running, there is a wonderful trail that elongated the lake. Beautiful place that needs 2 days to enjoy the peace and serenity. I only reserved one night but it... More

I stayed for one night and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I arrived without a plan on where to hike but one of the bartenders gave me a paper with a recommended hiking loop in Lauterbrunnen and it was wonderful! I got a dorm room to myself (since it was the off season) and there was live music... More

We stayed in a private room. Good, clean hostel within walking distance to many places. The staff was incredibly friendly and we had a great time hanging out in the bar that evening. The breakfast was simple consisting of bread, cheese, and jam. You may want to opt for a nearby restaurant/bakery on some mornings.

Hosts: Very and helpful staff, speak of English of course. Room: very basic and clean, and as the price is also basic we were happy enough. The bar/ restaurant had a great atmosphere with live bands etc etc, And a cool beer garden, probably the best places in town for an evening out. I could also recommend the food, as... More

We wanted to cook but we couldn't find any stove in the kitchen and when we asked the staff we were told that it is dangerous to cook in the backpacker! We as a traveller have never seen such backpacker without any proper kitchen and they just provide two microwave in the kitchen. They also do not have any laundry... More

This was a hostel with a hostel like experience. Bathrooms were shared and Saturday night was noisy but the rooms were clean, beds were made up during the day, and the bathrooms were kept in very good shape given the number of people using them. Staff was a bit harried during the evening but otherwise very helpful and nice.

I stayed here expecting a standard youth hostel atmosphere - fairly loud, fun, not very nice. But I wasn't prepared for exactly how loud, dumpy, and cramped this place would be. Of course, the price - 40Fr for a private single - pretty much tells the whole story. I had the last room available, which was three floors above the... More

Let me start by saying that as two girls traveling, my standards weren't very high to begin with. I have a high tolerance for noise and understand that when staying in a hostel, it isn't exactly luxurious. However, this hostel is extremely noisy, even on week nights and is not very "diversified". The rooms are very small, and to squeeze... More

It is a typical hostel, many levels and rooms. We have a two person twin room with bunk beds and a sink in the room. It was clean and bed reasonable for the cheaper price. Bathrooms and facilities clean, not always soap though. You can book lots of activities at he downstairs restaurant desk like paragliding. Overall would do again... More
