We had the misfortune of staying in this hotel during summer heat. Who would have thought that an $850/night 5-star, 5-diamond resort would not have air conditioning. The room was 90 degrees, even with the two fans the staff brought to the room. So our choices for nighttime were (1) leave the windows open to try to cool the room,... More

We booked a trip to Interlaken for our anniversary, and decided to book this hotel based on previous reviews here. From the moment we checked in, we were treated as if we were VIP's - we were offered an upgrade to a Duplex Suite (we had booked a deluxe room). As we had checked in early, our room wasn't quite... We just came back from a 12-day trip around Switzerland. We stayed in 4 and 5-star hotels. This one was the most expensive and the least enjoyable. We booked a regular room. The room was big but aged and a bit shabby. The bathroom looked like it was last upgraded in the sixties. One of the sinks was chipped in... More

Stayed at thie hotel several times, but sadly, no more. The obvious preference given to corporate parties over individual guests has spoilt the atmosphere previously enjoyed. A great shame that grand hotels need to go this way. - only go if you are prepared to be treated as 2nd class whilst a conference takes place. The spa however is exceptional... More

So first things first this hotel is not cheap and I can't say that it's worth it but it's a very nice hotel. For sure it's the best hotel in the area. We had a great view of Jungfrau. I loved the hardwood floors and never heard anyone walking on the floor above us. Breakfast was really good. Lots of... More

In the morning there is such a poor breakfast that would fit into the 2* hotel. Maybe they want that their guest stay slim? There were just müssli, few marmalades and that is it. No wieners, or eggs. The ladies in spa speak more languages and are very careful. There is face treatmant (not cleaning) with massage to recommend. That... More

From ambiance and setting, the hotel satisfies all needs, from the modern atrium to the old ball room. Upon arrival however a very very unfriendly doorman waved at me to park where he wanted me to park. There was no friendly welcome and we already felt that we caused too much trouble. Could be a personal issue of the guy,... More

I first saw this hotel 30 years ago, when staying in a Motel 6 was a luxury. I have been fortunate enough to be able to stay here a few times in the last 3 years. If you are looking for a classic European luxury hotel, there are very few life experiences that are better - on any dimension. Yes,... More

A very sophisticated hotel in this part of switzerland. The grand feel of the hotel was lovely and everyone really dressed up in the evening for dinner. Just chilling in the bar after dinner was so nice, listening to the piano being played and totally relaxing after a whole day sightseeing. Across from the hotel was a park that was... More

Quality of this kind comes at a price, but if you can afford it (and we could thanks to a voucher from an airline points redemption scheme) then there can't be many places in Europe to beat it. We were celebrating our anniversary and everything was just perfect. Great room overlooking the mountains - we liked the old world feel... More
