If you want a great view of The North Face make sure your room faces the mountain. The back rooms have a view of pasture. The hotel is fairly small and quaint. The rooms are VERY basic but adequate. Be prepared to carry your suitcases up the stairs - we were not offered any help. Bedding was so rough we... More

We got a south facing double room with a balcony. Our balcony wrapped around the corner with views that few hotels can match, really amazing view of the mountains. We were on the actual third floor, considered the second floor by Swiss standards. A walk up with your luggage. As the woman at the hotel said before we walked up... More

I booked a double room. When we arrived we were told that it was only for one person and that we had to pay an extra € 85 for the second guest. On the confirmation it actually said for one person. that is not what you expect for a double room. It is a very simple hotel. Normally I would... More

First experience was sitting outside enjoying a beer after a day's walking and looking admiringly at the Wetterhorn and Eiger. Staff were friendly and helpful and food good. Room was comfortable, shower hot (as seems to be the case in all Swiss hotels!) - would have happily stayed longer, only a short bus ride into town and the hotel ensures... More

We have been staying at this wonderful friendly hotel since 2006 for both summer and winter holidays. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the food excellent and the rooms comfortable and warm with wonderful views of the Wetterhorn, Schrekhorn and Eiger. There is no problem getting around in the winter as you are given a guest pass which gives free... More

My wife & I stayed here on a group motorcycle tour & used it as a base for 3 nights. Our reception was poor but we did arrive in the middle of the staff serving dinner & there is no defined reception area. Our room was small but very clean, well decorated & had a balcony with, probably, the best... More

This hotel is a proper swiss log cabin and looks stunning. The hotel staff when we got here were not to friendly and she was rather abrupt as we had a dog with us which we had placed on our booking but she said she was unaware of this so charged us extra. The room had a fabulous veiw of... More

After a long drive from Champagne we stopped at Hotel Blumlisalp for a late Sunday lunch. With service and views to die for it was one of the most unforgattable experiences ever. The restaurant service was excellent and the food to die for. With a veiw of the snow covered mountains from our table, what could be better.

The hotel is outside the town in a quiet environment. We are an older couple. We decided quite late on vacation in Grindelwald. Our aim was to be out every day, all day on trips. I chose a room with a balcony because I understood that only rooms with balcony face the view and are spacious. So it was. We... More

We hiked for 5 days in the Jungfrau region in and around Grindelwald. We stayed the night at the Hotel Blumlisalp and couldn't have had been happier! The staff were all friendly and helpful, the room spotless and comfortable, the food in the restaurant delicious. If you are looking for a less touristy and quieter stay from the Wetterhorn hotel...
