One of the best stays on our trip. Breakfast was amazing. Huge variety. Verni and her Husband made us feel so welcome. They were very quick to respond to email requests. The position is perfect. It is 5 minutes by bus from the station. The #21 bus stops at the door. The view of the Eiger is spectacular. Can highly... More

Our first Naturfreund/Friends of Nature House on the Alpen Pass Route across Switzerland. Previously stayed in the HI hostel just couple 100m down the lane but this beats it hands down on all counts - quiet (mostly over 25 walkers/outdoorsy types), amazing food - the breakfast has numerous takes on the Muesli/help yourself and eat as much as want, friendly... Stayed here with my wife for one night. Easy to check in, clean showers and rooms. The breakfast was simple and excellent (great muesli)! Glad we stayed there! We walked from the train station with our luggage, but some may find it too steep - you might want to take the quick bus from downtown.

This was one of my favourite places to stay on my trip. It's a lovely hostel, with fantastically friendly down to earth hosts who made me feel very comfortable. There is a small kitchen, and I left too early to have breakfast but it looked promising. The views are spectacular and there is a nice garden/lawn with chairs to sit... More

The NFH in Grindelwald is a wonderful place to stay. The hosts are so friendly and helpful, and the views wonderful. The bathroom is down the hall and the showers downstairs, but they also have a washer/dryer and a lovely lawn to relax on a nice day. The breakfast was an amazing spread of grains, breads, yogurt, fresh fruit, cheeses,... More

We visited during summer and the place was clean, peaceful and the food was delicious. They upgraded us to a couples room for free. The staff were also very helpful. Grindelwald town is quite touristy but if you hike into the hills it is really really beautiful, which we loved.

This was a fun place for us to stay. Owners were so friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. We were there 3 nights and had no problems. Just make sure you take the bus up the mountain or you'll have to walk...and by walk I mean hike.

We stayed 3 nights in this amazing place, with great views, helpful staff, and a beautiful location. We slept well all 3 nights and had a great time, attacked the Grosse Scheidegg on day 2 and spent a restful afternoon basking in the mountain views. Even though we opted out of the dinner, it smelt great. The included breakfast was... More

We stayed for a weekend. Our room had 2 bunk beds, nothing more, nothing less. We had to share the bathroom and toilet. The hotel will pick you up from the station. It is a very basic hotel, and perfect if you are just looking for a cheap place to crash during your ski weekend / holiday. I missed out... More

We were on a 14-day hike on the Via Alpina and needed a place to stay on this leg of the journey. We'd stayed at a Naturfreundehaus before, and this one was every bit as good. We arrived hot and sweaty, and our hostess immediately gave each of us tall glasses of peppermint iced tea (no charge). She speaks excellent... More
