A beautiful location where the hotel is situated, facing the Mountains of Eiger. So close that it is unbelievable. Only 1 minute walk from the Rail Station. Very comfortable rooms and helpful staff willing to provide special requirements. Excellent breakfast in the restaurant with good view of the mountains .

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel as we got the chance to view the breathtaking sights of the mountains right at our doorstep. The facilities were definitely adequate and pretty well maintained, and the staff were friendly and approachable. Breakfast may be limited in option but it has a rather homely setting which makes the meal a pleasant... More

This was a beautiful place to stay.. cozy room with a wonderful view of the mountains.. very close to the station so that it is ok to return quite late.. delicious breakfast, clean rooms.. a cozy common area with books and games... The view is typically what you would think of when you think of Switzerland!!.. mist covered mountains, flowers... More

An easy 5 minute (max.) walk from the station this hotel is wonderfully located with ample parking. The rooms are good and comfortable as you would expect from a 3* hotel. Our room had a terrace and a proper bath - not just a shower. Everything that should work did. The owner and his multi-lingual staff are very helpful and... More

This was my favourite hotel in Switzerland. I had a single en suite room with a balcony which had a view of the mountains. The room was very sweet and loved the overbed tree lamp, there was plenty of room and the shower was large. Breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly. I loved sitting on the balcony... Friendly owners, great view from the balcony (front rooms), delicious breakfast and clean rooms. Very close to the train station and downtown. Try out their restaurant: friendly staff and great food. We have stayed twice in the hotel - in Winter season 2012 as well as last weekend! We will come back! Just to be mentioned. This is a Swiss/European... More

Hotel is in great location. Minutes from train and Main Street. Quaint little family run hotel. Breakfast was small, with few options, but well prepared. We did have dinner here which was SPECTACULAR. Rooms were small and pillows were awful. Gorgeous views. Balcony off of room. Charming and comfortable. Decently priced. Felt very welcomed. Would recommend to anyone who is... More

The family running this hotel were very warm and inviting people. The hotel itself is perfectly located just up the short, although steep hill from the train station and not very far to walk to the bus interchange for the ski buses. The rooms were good, not the most modern of facilities, but the views from our room and balcony... More

Actually, I pulled the Alpina out of a hat -- and was concerned about noise as it's location is conveniently near the train station; I couldn't have been more wrong! Three of us stayed there for four nights so as to enjoy the hiking which Grindelwald affords. We loved the place, and the owners -- Regula & Thomas Wolf-Stucki --... More

The room was OK/adequate but I/we have a couple suggestions: 1) Buy drapes that are wide enough to cover the window. Ours were a good 2 feet too small. 2)Check the two soap dispensers in the bath daily. After my husband took a shower on Day 1 of a two day stay he told the desk that there was no... More
