My wife and I spent two weeks, each time, for the past four years at this hotel. I guess that speaks for itself. The hotel is centrally located yet our room was quiet. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Ilias, the manager, gave us excellent pointers whether we went hiking, wanted to see points of interest or eat in... More

We stayed at this hotel for several nights, using Grindelwald as our base camp for much of the Bernese Oberland. Front desk staff are polite and helpful. Breakfast had good selection (but watch your hard boiled eggs, people kept taking mine!) and the rooms are pretty standard. Nothing special about the rooms, but they had comfy beds. We were upgraded... More

We stayed here for one night before setting off on a hike. It is very clean, simple hotel--we enjoyed our stay. The guy on reception was helpful and efficient. The breakfast was plentiful and good choices. A good place to stay for a short break in Grindelwald.

We stayed her for 2 nights in July. The location is superb, easy walk from the train station and to all restaurants. The hotel is a nice, simple hotel, nothing fancy but clean and neat and nicely appointed. The breakfast served was a great way to start our day. What really made our stay here was the staff, everyone was... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights on our honeymoon. It is very conveniently located about a 3 minute walk from the train station and across the street from the bus stop. The staff are so friendly. The breakfast was good too. Our room was small but the beds were comfy and the view from our balcony was beautiful.... More

Friendly staff and nice lounge room with free coffee and tea - but until 7 pm only. My room was tiny but comfortable and quiet. Nice breakfast, even if the cold, fresh milk was just on the verge of turning sour - not a big deal, there was a large variety of food to choose from. I would rate it... More

We stayed for 5 days in Bernerhof. It was a comfortable stay,we had a balcony having the Eiger view so it was nice. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good. Location is the best thing as it is a stone's throw from the station,so good if you have kids with you. Overall recommended for a comfortable,no-fuss... More

Our family stayed here for two nights in April 2014. Pros: - AWESOME views of the mountains from the front of the hotel (if you get a room at the back, they aren't bad either) - Location is right in the middle of the city (right in front of the bus station and a minute walk from the train station)... I have stayed in the Bernerhof twice in 2 years and love it so much I'm looking forward to my next stay. On our second visit we were very much treated like old friends. I genuinely can't understand the negative reviews of the staff. They were always welcoming and friendly. Ilias, Freddie and Debbie were especially welcoming. We even had... More

This is a small hotel, and the staff knew me by name right away. The views are stunning. The rooms relaxing and quaint. The offer a continental breakfast that is very robust. Very easy access from the train station, less than a 100 meter walk. I would stay again in a heartbeat.
