Clearly from some of the other reviews this hotel has been going through a transformation. When we stayed here it was definately finished. This hotel is extremely well appointed with a very comfortable ambience. Staff at all points were courteous and helpful. Have just returned from a few days in Grindelwald staying in one of the new apartments at the Romantik Hotel Schweizerhof. The accommodation was first class, and the view of the mountains spectacular. We had two splendid meals in the restaurant, and the staff were quite delightful, and so friendly. We booked through a tour group and were provided a room on the rear of the building with a perfect and totally unobstructed view of all their new construction--and that's all we could see--they said they had no other rooms available. Rooms have no ventilation or air conditioning, so windows need to be open to get air--the flies woke you... more

Basil Fawlty has come to Switzerland; complete and utter ripoff; quoted price was not the price on the bill and items are added hoping you don't chekc the bill, swimming pool was dirty and service in the bar area non-existant; when someone finally comes you feel you are doing them a favour; our bathroom was not clean and the beds... more

We traveled to Switzerland with Extended family and stayed at the Romantik in Grindelwald. The views from the mountains were absolutely incredible. The Romantik was nice, although the individual rooms were not as plush as you might expect. More than that being a reflection of this property there seems to be a trend in Switzerland to have the guest rooms... more

Rooms cold, billing errors galore, unable to get the attention of any of the barstaff when sitting in the lounge. Terrible more

Not a good stay for the duration; some of the staff charming, some very unfriendly, all a little bit clinical; then the bill contained lots of errors, the low rate agreed with the agent failed to show up, and they tried to charge us the rack rate, and the extras charged for dinner were hard to identify; were also charged... more

Had a very disappointing stay over Christmas; service was abysmal, and non-existant in the lounge area; the barman tutted (!!) every time you beckoned him over to order a coffee; to add insult to injury, our bill contains loads of errors, with bottles of wine we've never had etc. more

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful 10 days staying at the Schweizerhof. The standard of service was exceptional and the dedication of the staff is to be commended. We will definitely be recommending this hotel to family and friends and hope to go back some day ourselves. more
