Stayed there for a night, and also eat an evening meal. Small is beautiful, the building is part of the medieval houses inside the walls of the city, close to the Basel gate (hence the name Baseltor). A warm welcome, efficient reservation process, multilingual staff, simple but contemporary room (caution, you are in a typical wood&stone house). Restaurant is on... More

Travel to Solthurn regularly and always stay at Baseltor. Great location, lots of original features. Rooms are clean with contemporty furnishings and staff are friendly and helpful. It is well worth eating in the otel restaraunt

If you like simple but good things you'll be more than happy if you have the chance to spend a night at baseltor. Simple rooms but equipped with vintage design furniture, beds have excellent linen sheets, tea in room is great, and breakfast is basic but with a good choice of ham and cheese. Probably the best choice in Solothurn... More

Good Mediterranean restaurant in the old town with very friendly service and good atmosphere. Dishes did not respond to expectations especially desserts. Main course much too salty. Wine choice very interesting. First courses original and tasty.

Have stayed in different Solothurn hotels, and this is the best so far. Close to everything, but a bit away (150 meters) from the crowds and noise at the central square. Spacious superior double room at second floor facing the cathedral. A super-clean bathroom with a good shower cabin. However, the sink is actually placed in the bedroom, a bit... More

Just back from a magical and charming stay at the Hotel Baseltor. Our room was literally located the ancient walls of this one of a kind storybook town. Our hostess was delightful...breakfast welcoming. Our room was perfect in every way. Our son had his own little room and bed. We would return in a heartbeat.
