We were really looking forward to our stay at L'Aubier, having read some wonderful reviews in guide books. Initial arrival and a quick view of the surroundings felt like it wouldn't disappoint, however sadly with time it rather did. We had to ask to change room as the double that we had booked was so small, we knew we wouldn't... More

I believe there are 2 hotels in different towns for this hotel brand, privately owned. I stayed in the heart of Neuchatel, Multi-story hotel with cafe and 3 floors of rooms. Believe there are 8 rooms total. Stayed 4 nights and hated to leave. Clean, comfortable, friendly, kind staff and Owner. Most spoke English. Yes, Switzerland is expensive, but I... More

Nice place, nice and clean room, ecologic philosophy, wood building, very good staff at reception and in the store, very good farm products in the store, room very quiet and very nice panorame on the lake and on the woods! Excellent stay, I strongly suggest this hotel!

Use to be good but has been overtaken by its reputation in the last few years. Staff could do with some customer relations training. If you want good simple food in a friendly atmosphere then walk 500m next to the railway line to the Hotel de La Gare at Montmollin (not the choice for vegetarians though!!).

We were so excited about going to this organic and ecological hotel - and were badly disappointed. They had booked us in a cubicle kind of room away from the main building of the hotel. This cubicle clearly had seen better days, the bathroom extremely small (two slim people could barely be there at the same time), poorly cleaned. The... More

We decided on LÀubier having looked for other places in the area and we were pleased we did so. We booked for 5 nights and paid for 4, our room was "Terra Cotta" large, comfortable with large window overlooking the lake and the Alps away in the distance. L`Aubier is ideally situated for people like us who want to hike... More

The rooms are very big, but as the previous reviewer we were a bit surprised that our room did not have a balcony/garden access, instead it had a mezzanine and tiny windows - pity as the view would have been nice. Note the mezzanine is not safe for small children. The hotel takes pride of their bio beds - but... More

We booked a weekend at the l'Aubier as it came recommended by locals. We booked a superior room which according to their website are bright, spacious and have a balcony, large windows or direct access to the garden. Granted the surroundings of the hotel are beautiful, with a view on the lake, however the room we stayed in was small,... More
